  • Patent number: 9309789
Abstract: A controller of a valve timing control apparatus executes an initial control and a normal control. The normal control causes a rotation phase of a vane rotor to be changed by controlling working fluid to flow into or out of operation chambers. The initial control causes working fluid to intermittently flow into a predetermined operation chamber of the operation chambers. The controller starts the initial control when an engine is activated. The controller switches the initial control into the normal control after the initial control is finished.

  • Patent number: 9294400
Abstract: A switch system realizes extension of the number of entries of an open flow table by using tables in a switch as existing resources. Specifically, the switch configures an open flow table by logically combining a plurality of tables, each of which defines processing to a given packet, based on a condition and a processing content defined in each table. The switch refers to the open flow table to determine the processing content to a reception packet. The switch executes the processing of the reception packet based on the determined processing content.

  • Patent number: 9169746
Abstract: A main angle-limiting mechanism mechanically limits a relative movement between a vane rotor and a housing within a main angular range. When a rotational phase difference between the vane rotor and the housing becomes out of the main angular range, for example, due to a breakage of the main angle-limiting mechanism, an electronic control unit sets a target value for the rotational phase difference. The target value is set at such a value within a restricted angular range, which is smaller than the main angular range.

  • Patent number: 9115612
Abstract: A sealing member is supported by a holding surface of a vane rotor and slides on a sealing surface formed by an inner surface of a housing rotor, so as to seal an advancing chamber and a retarding chamber from each other. The sealing member has a pressure-receiving surface and a diffuser surface. The pressure-receiving surface receives pressure of working fluid from a working chamber in a direction to the sealing surface. The diffuser surface forms a sealing gap between the diffuser surface and the sealing surface, so that the sealing surface becomes larger as the sealing surface is more separated from the working chamber in a circumferential direction. The sealing member has a deformable portion forming the pressure-receiving surface and the diffuser surface. The deformable portion is elastically deformed, so that the diffuser surface is more strongly pushed to the sealing surface, when the pressure of the working fluid is increased.
