  • Patent number: 5300654
Abstract: .beta.-hydroxyketones are prepared by reacting an aldehyde with acetone in the presence of perhydroisoindole or pyrrolidine and water. The resulting .beta.-hydroxyketone is further reacted in the presence of a solvent mixture to produce .alpha.-.beta.-unsaturated ketones.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 15, 1991
Date of Patent: April 5, 1994
    Assignee: Nippon Soda Co., Ltd.

  • Patent number: 5214151
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the preparation of .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated ketones represented by general formula (II) ##STR1## (where R is a heterocyclic group with nitrogen atom in the ring or a phenyl group with electron donative substituents) which comprises reacting aldehydes represented by general formula (I)RCHO (I)(where R is a s defined above) with acetone, in the presence as a catalyst of one or tow or more compounds selected from the group consisting of perhydroisoindole and pyrrolidine which may have substituents, in a water solvent, at 20.degree. C. to 40.degree. C., and then reacting at the reflux temperature. The compound (II) is extremely important as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals.

  • Patent number: 5008455
Abstract: There is provided a method for the production of hydroxylamine derivatives or the salt thereof in which a salt of hydroxamic acid is reacted with an alkylating agent such as diethyl sulfate to form an ester of hydroxamic acid, which is reacted with mineral acid in an aqueous solution of lower alcohol so as to prepare hydroxylamine derivatives or the salt thereof. In this process, the incorporation of an oxidizing agent or aldehydes in the reaction system will significantly reduce the content of nitrosoamines in the resulting solution of hydroxylamine derivatives or the salt thereof. Therefore, the resulting hydroxylamine derivatives obtained with a lesser content of harmful compound will be useful as an intermediate for the production of drugs and pesticides.

  • Patent number: 4921988
Abstract: A process for preparing aminopropyl silanes in which an allylamine is reacted with a hydrosilane in the presence of a catalyst comprising (i) metallic rhodium or a rhodium compound and (ii) a basic compound. By the proposed process the corresponding gammaaminopropyl silane can be prepared in a high selectivity and yield within a short period of reaction time.

  • Patent number: 4902736
Abstract: A one-part curing composition comprising a compound (a) having two or more structural groups, per molecule, expressed by the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 are groups selected from an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, and a chloromethyl group, and a polymer (b) having two or more isocyanate groups per molecule, has a good stability in storage under conditions which exclude moisture and humidity, and which further cures in the presence of humidity. This composition does not foam under high temperatures and humidities and has a good heat resistance.
