  • Publication number: 20030081970
Abstract: An electrophotographic image recording apparatus incorporates a fixing unit in which a toner image deposited on a print medium is fused by heat under pressure. The fixing unit includes a fixing member and a separator plate. The fixing member is in pressure contact with a pressure member. The separator plate that is disposed close to the fixing member and has a longitudinal portion extending in a direction transverse to a transport path of the print medium. The separator plate has a mid portion of the longitudinal portion. The mid portion has resiliency to extend away from the transport path and a guide member that pushes the mid portion of the separator plate to maintain the entire longitudinal portion flat so that mid portion is prevented from extending away from the transport path.

  • Publication number: 20030010696
Abstract: A separating agent for enantiomeric isomers has an enantiomerically active polymer compound supported thereon. The polymer compound has an exothermic peak before a decomposition temperature of the polymer compound supported is reached in a differential calorimetric curve obtained in a process of temperature elevation in differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) on the separating agent. Also, disclosed is a method of evaluating asymmetry recognition ability of a separating agent for enantiomeric isomers. The method includes performing the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) of a separating agent for enantiomeric isomers having supported thereon an enantiomerically active polymer compound to obtain a differential calorimetric curve in a process of temperature elevation therein, and observing presence or absence of an exothermic peak of the polymer compound in the differential calorimetric curve before a decomposition temperature of the supported polymer compound is reached.

  • Publication number: 20020122707
Abstract: A power tool includes a hook portion comprising a hook holding portion 20, which is provided in a housing 1 and has engaging teeth 47 provided in a housing 1, and also comprising a hook 2 having a shaft portion 30, which is inserted into the hook holding portion 20 and provided with fitting teeth 31 meshing with the engaging teeth 47, an elastic body 27 adapted to push the hook 2 against a handle portion at all times, and a slip-off preventing part holding portion adapted to move the hook 2 in a direction of an axis thereof against a force of the elastic body 2 and to cancel the mesh between the teeth to thereby enable the hook 2 to turn.

  • Publication number: 20020122673
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image-forming unit having a charging section and a developing section that are rotated together with a photoconductor in an idling manner. The charging section and developing section receive voltages while rotating. The apparatus includes a toner sensor and a controller. The toner sensor outputs a detection signal indicating that the toner has been replenished in the image-forming unit. In accordance with the detection signal, the controller changes the voltages, a time length during which the photoconductor, charging section, and developing section are rotated, or speeds at which the photoconductor, charging section, and developing section are rotated. The time length is extended or speeds are increased when the image-forming unit has been replaced.

  • Patent number: 6214451
Abstract: The invention relates to an antistatic resin molded article which comprises a thermoplastic resin substrate and an antistatic resin layer applied to the surface of the resin substrate. The antistatic resin layer is formed of a coating layer produced by dispersing conductive and extremely fine carbon long-fibers in the thermoplastic resin thereby holding the antistatic properties and enabling thermoforming. As the extremely fine carbon fiber, a pilled fiber aggregate composed of fibers with a fiber diameter of 3.5 to 500 nm and an aspect ratio of 100 to 3000 or an agglomerate in which the aggregates are agglomerated is used.

  • Patent number: 6211088
Abstract: The present invention has as an object, the provision of a manufacturing method for a semiconductor gas-phase epitaxial wafer which achieves the extremely high wafer flatness demanded in line with making wafers larger in size and heightening device process integration levels, and which forms either a backside CVD film or a thermal oxide film required as a gas-phase epitaxial wafer, and solves problems related thereto. More particularly, it achieves the high flatness and low processing deformation required by a large-diameter wafer, and makes it possible to enhance yield in the device process.

  • Patent number: 6112037
Abstract: A color image forming apparatus includes a carrier belt which runs along a transport path of a recording medium to transport the recording medium. A number of image-forming sections are aligned in the transport path. Each of the plurality of image-forming sections forms a toner image of a corresponding color included in an image signal. A plurality of transfer units are provided, with each being disposed to oppose a corresponding one of the number of image-forming sections. Each of the number of transfer units transferring the toner image of the corresponding color to the recording medium. A fixing unit is provided that fixes the toner image to the recording medium. A controller is provided that detects a number of colors in the image signal. The controller sets one set of speeds from a plurality of different sets of speeds in accordance with the number of colors.

  • Patent number: 6072514
Abstract: A print head for which the number of bits can be set to a predetermined value when a plurality of driver ICs are connected. Data input through a data input pin is passed through an internal shift register and output through a data output pin. The data output pin of one driver IC is connected to a data input pin of another, thereby providing any desired number of shift register bits. Each driver IC has additional data output pins and can output intermediate data through one of the data output pins. Therefore, the additional data output pins can be used to change the number of significant bits of the driver IC. Consequently, when the driver ICs are connected to each other, the number of shift register bits can be adjusted.
