    Abstract: A scroll compressor is provided which includes: a revolving scroll, a fixed scroll, an autorotation preventing mechanism, a frame, a crank shaft provided with an eccentric pin portion which is eccentric with respect to an axis, the crank shaft being provided with a flange portion at a lower portion of the eccentric pin portion, the flange portion being larger than the diameter of the eccentric pin portion, a balance weight mounted on the flange portion, a sealing member performing sealing between the revolving scroll and the flange portion, and a thrust bearing arranged between the frame and the flange portion. The scroll compressor reduces the amount of oil flowing into a back pressure chamber, thereby improving the performance of the scroll compressor.

The flange section is a remaining region in a protruding region disposed outside a referential perfect circle, the remaining region being other than a region continuing to an end of an involute curve of a scroll formed with the flange section, the referential perfect circle having a radius set to a distance between the center of the scroll formed with the flange section and the end of the involute curve. The scroll compressor enhances reduction of the sliding loss with a simple structure and reduction of the refrigerant leakage loss in the entire compression chambers.

In the face of the bed plate, a communicating section control groove that lets the inlet side openings of the two fluid effluence channels and the back pressure room intermittently communicate with each other.

A balance weight fixed to a drive shaft between a rotor of an electric motor 4 and a compression mechanism includes a weight portion in a substantially semicircular column shape for balancing a rotating mass, a cover portion which is substantially semi-cylindrical and has an opening in the vicinity of a top and bottom at an opposite side in a radial direction from the weight portion, and a hollow space surrounded by the weight portion and the cover portion. Further, a space for discharging oil is provided between the balance weight and the rotor. By the structure, reduction in oil churn, and reduction in input of the compressor are realized, and the compressor with less power consumption is obtained.

    Abstract: A scroll compressor is provided in which the amount of lubricant oil supply is appropriately controlled over a low to high rotational frequency range of the scroll compressor. The scroll compressor has an oil supply unit and an oil supply passage. The oil supply unit includes a small hole with a diameter not exceeding a seal ring width of the sealing part and a groove which are formed on the end plate of the boss portion on the back side of the orbiting scroll. As the orbiting scroll orbitally moves, oil in the high pressure hydraulic chamber pools in the small hole to be discharged, across the seal ring, into the back pressure chamber. The oil supply passage communicates between the high pressure hydraulic chamber and the back pressure chamber.
