  • Patent number: 7257202
Abstract: A video-phone call with a portable video-phone terminal is enabled for a cellular phone which has not video-phone service provided, by making use of cameras and display devices placed on the street. For a video-phone call to a portable video-phone terminal, a media converter in a service center distributes data so as to send video data to a public communication terminal on the street, and voice data to a cellular phone without video recording/reproducing capability. A call agent in a service center issues an ID in response to a request from the cellular phone without video recording/reproducing capability on voice call. This ID may be received by a service center via a detector such as a sensor deployed on the street, to provide a video-phone service by using a public communication terminal on the street in the vicinity of the detector.

  • Publication number: 20050021810
Abstract: In order to prevent a reduction in frame rate of a reproduced moving picture on the terminal equipment side for performing a display and enable moving picture playback under a simple construction in a remote display technology, either a server or a terminal equipment or both thereof are equipped with router-attached graphics engines. The server draws a window and decoration thereof into a virtual VRAM, calculates the difference in the drawn data, performs a first decode process as a pre-process, adds drawing position information to intermediate data obtained in the first decode process, and transmits moving picture stream data to the terminal equipment. The terminal equipment effects a second decode process used as a post-process on received data, and draws and displays the so-process data in accordance with the drawing position information.

  • Publication number: 20050013592
Abstract: A reproducing apparatus is provided. According to that reproducing apparatus, separately provided sound data and motion picture data coincide with each other in reproducing start timing with smaller discrepancy than the conventional techniques. The reproducing apparatus 1 synchronously reproduces separately provided motion picture data and sound data, comprising a motion picture reproducing unit 40 and a sound reproducing unit 50. The motion picture reproducing unit 50 includes a motion picture decoder 42 which decodes the motion picture data and a display control unit 44 which converts the motion picture data decoded by the motion picture decoder into an image signal for a display unit, to output the image signal to the display unit 60.

  • Patent number: 6748463
Abstract: An information processing apparatus with a hierarchized bus structure having a system bus connected to central processing units and cache memories and an I/O bus connected to I/O devices. In response to a DMA request from the I/O device, a memory controller connected to both buses and to a main memory compares previous snoop addresses stored in a buffer memory of the memory controller with a current address contained in the DMA request to check whether the current DMA request is coincident with the past snoop process. If the comparison indicates a coincident snoop process, a snoop access process request is inhibited to be output to the system bus and cache memory. With this operation, the number of snoop accesses for DMAs to the same block of the cache memory can be reduced and a time during which the system bus is occupied can be shortened, to thereby improve the system performance.

  • Patent number: 6600790
Abstract: There is provided a gap coupling type bus system, which makes it possible to mutually transfer data between all the modules connected to the bus. The gap coupling type bus system comprises for at least three modules, each module being provided with at least one sending/receiving circuit for sending and receiving a signal: at least three signal lines (21-26) respectively connected to the at least three modules (11-16); and terminating resistors (31-36) connected to respective signal lines at the other ends of the signal lines, each terminating resistor having generally same value as characteristic impedance of the signal line. Those at least three signal lines (21-26) have portions (1-2, 1-3, 2-3, . . . ) laid in parallel with one another with a predetermined gap, correspondingly to every combination of different two modules out of those at least three modules (11-16).
