  • Patent number: 8718849
Abstract: In a hybrid vehicle, motor traveling using only an output of a rotating electric machine utilizing electric power of a vehicle-mounted power storage device is applicable in a region inside a maximum output line in motor traveling for an EV mode, and in a region inside a maximum output line in motor traveling for an EV mode. Each of the maximum output lines is composed of straight line portions defining an upper limit torque and an upper limit vehicle speed and a curved line portion defining upper limit output power, in motor traveling. Therefore, if a vehicle speed exceeds the upper limit vehicle speed in motor traveling in each of the EV mode and the HV mode, an engine is started. A motor traveling upper limit vehicle speed in the EV mode is set to be lower than a motor traveling upper limit vehicle speed in the HV mode.

  • Patent number: 8643214
Abstract: A Wout calculating portion summates limit values of respective power storage devices to calculate an output power limit value of a power storage portion. An excess current FB control portion executes an excess current FB control if at least one of currents IB1, IB2, and IBT exceeds a predetermined threshold. A Woutf correction processing portion corrects the output power limit value given to a motor power calculating portion to a motor power command value at a timing when at least one of the currents IB1, IB2, and IBT reaches the threshold. In a load driving device that includes a plurality of power storage devices connected in parallel to one another, respective parts may be appropriately protected from overcurrent while sufficiently exploiting the capacities of the plurality of the power storage devices to ensure motive energy performance.

  • Patent number: 8639751
Abstract: When license information is transferred between a server machine and a client machine, an identifier which is unique to a series of communication sequences is provided. The identifier is sent when a communication is performed between the two machines, as well as when the license information is updated. Therefore, when a message for transferring the license information is received by the use of the same identifier, a response message is returned without updating the license information.

  • Publication number: 20130325236
Abstract: Vehicle includes an engine, a first rotating electric machine and a control device controlling the rotational speed of the first rotating electric machine such that the rotational speed of the engine matches a target rotational speed. The control device calculates a torque command value of the first rotating electric machine based on an upper limit value of electric power discharged from a power storage device supplying electric power to the first rotating electric machine. The control device calculates the torque command of the first rotating electric machine based on a further restricted value of the upper limit value when a torque restricting condition including simultaneous operation of an accelerator pedal and brake pedal is met.

  • Patent number: 8583307
Abstract: A power supply system includes a main power storage device and a plurality of sub power storage devices. A converter is connected to a selected one of the sub power storage devices to convert voltage between the selected sub power storage device and an electric power feeding line bidirectionally. Connection of the sub power storage device is switched and, when the last sub power storage is used, a request to disconnect the sub power storage device is generated based on the SOC of the sub power storage device and the vehicle state. Specifically, where the SOC is included in a disconnection forced region in which the SOC is smaller than a reference lower limit, the sub power storage device is forced to be disconnected regardless of the vehicle state.

  • Patent number: 8571733
Abstract: A power supply system includes a main power storage device and a plurality of sub power storage devices. A converter is connected to a selected one of the sub power storage devices to convert voltage between the selected sub power storage device and an electric power feeding line bidirectionally. In response to decrease in SOC of the selected sub power storage device being used, a request to switch the sub power storage device is generated and accordingly a switching process for a relay is performed. Here, while a process for starting or stopping an engine is being performed, the request to switch will not be generated even when decrease in SOC is detected. Likewise, while a process for switching the sub power storage device is being performed, the process for starting or stopping the engine will not be started even when a request to start or stop the engine is generated.

  • Patent number: 8571734
Abstract: A power supply system includes a main power storage device and a plurality of sub power storage devices. A converter is connected to selected one of the sub power storage devices to convert voltage between the selected sub power storage device and an electric power feeding line bidirectionally. In the case of a switching-forced region where the SOC of the selected sub power storage device in use is lower than a lower limit reference value, the sub power storage device is forced to be switched regardless of the vehicle's state. In contrast, in the case of a switching-permitted region where the SOC is higher than that in the switching-forced region, a switch request is generated based on the vehicle's state under the condition that does not influence the vehicle's drivability.

  • Patent number: 8562144
Abstract: An image projection device includes a replaceable air filter placed near an opening of a housing, a switcher for switching step by step a working area of the air filter, an air-speed meter for detecting a pollution level of the air filter, and a controller for controlling the switcher. When the air-speed meter detects that the pollution level of the air filter reaches a given threshold, the controller prompts the switcher to switch the working area of the air filter, and then detects a pollution level of the air filter after the switchover for determining whether or not the working area before the switchover needs to be switched.

  • Patent number: 8565953
Abstract: A power supply system includes a main power storage device and a plurality of sub power storage devices. A converter is connected to a selected one of the sub power storage devices to convert voltage between the selected sub power storage device and an electric power feeding line bidirectionally. The sub power storage device undergoes a connection switching process, and when the last sub power storage device is currently used, then, in accordance with that sub power storage device's SOC and the vehicle's state, a request is generated to disconnect the sub power storage device and a relay is turned off. In doing so, if a process is currently performed for starting or stopping an engine, generating the request is refrained even if a decreased SOC is sensed. Similarly, if a process is performed to disconnect a sub power storage device, and therewhile a request is generated to start/stop the engine, starting the process performed for starting or stopping the engine is refrained.

  • Patent number: 8543271
Abstract: A power supply system includes a main power storage device and a plurality of sub power storage devices. A converter is connected to selected one of the sub power storage devices to convert voltage between the selected sub power storage device and an electric power feeding line bidirectionally. When a request for switching the selected sub power storage device in use is generated, upper limits on electric power input/output to/from the selected sub power storage device are continuously varied. Thus, discontinuous variation of electric power input/output to/from the power supply system during the process for switching the selected sub power storage device can be avoided. Consequently, sudden change in a behavior of an electrically powered vehicle can be avoided.
