  • Patent number: 5408170
Abstract: A charging equipment for charging a secondary battery in a constant-current and constant-voltage mode, including a switching device for interrupting a charging current from flowing into the secondary battery at a predetermined period, a charging control device for controlling the operation of the switching device to control the charging, and a voltage detection device for detecting a voltage at a position near to the switching device (e.g., at the input or output side of the switching device) before the charging current is interrupted and a voltage between the switching device and the secondary battery after the charging current is interrupted, thereby calculating a voltage difference between the voltages, the charging control device controlling the operation of the switching device on the basis of the voltage difference of the voltage detection device.

  • Patent number: 5380436
Abstract: A solid-liquid separator comprising a number of stationary rings arranged with spaces left therebetween, a number of floating rings each disposed movably in the spaces between the stationary rings and a screw conveyor provided in the inner space of the stationary and floating rings. The screw conveyor is driven in rotation to convey sludge water introduced into the space, and while being conveyed, only a water portion thereof is discharged to the exterior through the minute gaps between the floating and stationary rings. The motion of the floating ring prevents clogging of the solid portion in the minute gaps.

  • Patent number: 5172044
Abstract: A voltage setting value for charging a battery starts from a first constant voltage level less than a full battery voltage and after a period of time the battery voltage reaches that first level and the charging current begins to decrease. The charging current decrease is detected and the voltage value is increased to a next constant voltage level and the process is repeated until the constant voltage level is reached that equals the full battery voltage. Each time the voltage level is changed the corresponding percentage of the battery voltage is displayed to represent the charging amount.

  • Patent number: 4901780
Abstract: A method of producing a fiber reinforced metal composition is characterized by a unique and successful pressure exerting program for consolidating a fiber assembly fabricated into a desired configuration and a molten metal matrix. The program is generally constituted a first step in which relatively low pressure is exerted on the molten metal for consolidation of the fiber assembly and the molten metal and a second step in which pressure is instantly increased to a maximum pressure for solidification of the metal matrix.

  • Patent number: 4771323
Abstract: In a semiconductor memory device, a memory cell comprises a first MOS transistor (Q1) of a first channel type formed on a semiconductor substrate and having a gate electrode connected to a word line. A charge storage electrode is connected to the drain of the first transistor and forms a capacitor with the gate electrode. A semiconductor layer is formed over the charge storage electrode. A second MOS transistor (Q2) of a second channel type formed in the semiconductor layer. The charge storage electrode forms a gate electrode of the second transistor. The drain of the second transistor is connected to a power supply. The source of the second transistor is connected to a bit line, which is either the same as or separate from the first-mentioned bit line. For writing data, a first potential is applied to the word line to make conductive the first transistor for writing data, and the potential applied to the source of the first transistor is varied depending on whether the data to be written is "0" or "1".

  • Patent number: 4292133
Abstract: A control rod drive attaching and detaching device and a control rod drive handling device are mounted on a revolving device to be movable independently from each other. The control rod drive attaching and detaching device includes bolt handling means for loosening and tightening bolts for fastening a control rod drive to a pressure vessel of a nuclear reactor, coolant splash preventing means for disposing of coolant which flows from the control rod drive when the latter is detached from the pressure vessel, and uncoupling means for uncoupling a control rod from the control rod drive. The control rod drive handling device includes a column pivotally mounted on a carriage, a cart removably mounted on the column, and means for moving the column to a horizontal position. Each control rod drive mounted to the pressure vessel of the nuclear reactor is detached from the pressure vessel by the control rod attaching and detaching device and transferred to the cart of the control rod drive handling device.
