  • Patent number: 4838164
Abstract: An ink-furnishing apparatus for continuously supplying ink to an ink cylinder from an ink rail even during high speed operation of the ink cylinder. An ink transfer surface of the ink rail has a first solid substance which is superior to a cast iron constituting the ink rail in terms of separation of ink therefrom. A peripheral surface of the ink cylinder has a second solid substance which is superior to the first solid substance in terms of adhesion of the ink thereon. While said first solid substance has a surface which makes a larger contact angle with a surface of the ink than a contact angle made between the surface of the ink and the surface of cast iron constituting said ink rail, said second solid substance has a surface which makes a smaller contact angle with the surface of the ink than said larger contact angle.

  • Patent number: 4787314
Abstract: A device for removing water from the returning portion of the peripheral surface of a meshed roll mounted in a planographic printing press comprises at least one roll for removing water pressed against the said returning portion. The peripheral surface of the roll is made of soft and smoothed material, or brushes project to the centrifugal direction from the peripheral surface of the roll. In one embodiment, a smooth roll of rubber or soft resin presses against the meshed roll, a second smooth roll of metal contacts it, a blade scrapes the second roll and a container receives recovered water from the blade.

  • Patent number: 4773143
Abstract: A roller with a doctor blade has both a harder material portion and a softer material portion provided on the peripheral surface in the same radius from the center of the roller, for achieving complete doctoring. The harder material portion forms a minimum belt-like line in a non-perpendicular direction with respect to the axis of the roller, and preventing wear by doctoring against the softer material portion, and limits the wear of the doctor blade, producing uniform wear without a fear of local wear. The softer material portion has maximum area provided between the turns of the belt-like line and facilitates the formation of cells for measuring and the use of a lipophilic material.

  • Patent number: 4692643
Abstract: A semiconductor switching device includes a row of a plurality of switching elements connected in series. The input terminal of the input-nearest switching element and the output terminal of the output-nearest switching element are connected with the input terminal and output terminal of the semiconductor switching device, respectively. A control signal is applied to the control terminal of the output-nearest switching element. The semiconductor switching device comprises a first plurality of capacitive elements each of which is connected between the output terminal of the output-nearer switching element and the control terminal of the input-nearer switching element of the adjacent switching elements among the switching element row; and a second capacitive element connected between the output terminal and input terminal of the input-nearest switching element. At least the switching elements (S.sub.2 -S.sub.n) have insulating gates, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4627350
Abstract: A pair of first and second doctor blades are disposed in symmetrical locations one on each side of a location in which a mesh roller is disposed adjacent to a fountain roller. There is switching means for independently displacing the pair of doctor blades between a first position in which the doctor blades are pressed against the mesh roller and a second position in which the doctor blades are spaced from the mesh roller, with or without a safety circuit.

  • Patent number: 4612561
Abstract: A parallel connected gate turn-off thyristor device including an additional short circuiting conductor connected between the gate terminals of the respective gate turn-off thyristors so as to bypass a part of the turn-on and turn-off gate currents of one gate turn-off thyristor to other gate turn-off thyristors to increase the turn-on and turn-off gate currents of the other gate turn-off thyristors thereby hastening the turn-on and turn-off operations of the other gate turn-off thyristors.

  • Patent number: 4556389
Abstract: A novel method for firmly bonding metal and ceramics comprising the steps of applying a composite plating composition consisting of a metal containing plating solution and fine particles of ceramic on a surface of metal to which the ceramic is to be bonded, thereby forming a metal plating layer on the surface having partially projected fine particles of ceramic, and then firing the coated metal in order to fuse the ceramic thereto.

  • Patent number: 4414897
Abstract: In an inking mechanism in a rotary press a doctor blade is provided to prevent the mixing into the ink of bubbles which cause the scattering of an ink mist upon bursting of the bubbles. The doctor blade can swing along the circumferential surface of eccentric sleeves supporting both ends of a fountain roll. A free end portion of the doctor blade contacts with a position just progressed in the rotative direction on that portion of the circumferential surface of a mesh roll to which ink is transferred from the fountain roll. A scraped ink returning plate is provided close to and along the circumferential surface of the fountain roll providing a streamline flow of the scraped ink without turbulent flow. The free end portion of the doctor blade can be displaced for cleaning and replacement.
