    Abstract: The invention provides an amorphous copolymerized polyester raw material for a film. The raw material contains ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent component, and contains from 18% by mol to 30% by mol of neopentyl glycol when a total amount of a glycol component in a total polyester resin component is taken as 100% by mol. The raw material contains from 8% by mol to 16% by mol of a constituent unit derived from diethylene glycol in the total amount (100% by mol) of the glycol component in the total polyester resin component. The raw material has an intrinsic viscosity of from 0.70 dl/g to 0.86 dl/g. The raw material has a melt viscosity of 200 Pa·S or less, when measured at a shear rate of 6080/S at 250° C.

    Abstract: The polyester film is formed with a polyester resin whose main constituent component is ethylene terephthalate. The polyester film has two or more layers that include at least one fold holding layer, which is present on at least one of the film surfaces and has a total of at least one monomer component that can form an amorphous component of 12-30% by mol in all monomer components of the fold holding layer and a difference in amount of an amorphous component of 4-30% by mol obtained by deducting an amount of an amorphous component in a layer other than the fold holding layer from the amount of the amorphous component in the fold holding layer. The polyester film has a fold holding angle of 20-70 degrees and a heat shrinkage rate of 0-15% in the longitudinal and width directions when treated in 80° C. hot water for 10 seconds.

The film contains 7-30 mol % of a constituent unit derived from diethylene glycol in 100 mol % of the whole polyester resin component.

This heat-shrinkable polyester film comprising a polyester of a predetermined composition fulfills all of the following: (1) a ratio A1/A2 of the absorbancy (A1) at 1340 cm?1 and the absorbancy (A2) at 1410 cm?1 of the film measured by polarized ATR-FTIR from 0.45 to 0.75 or from 0.40 to less than 0.45 in either the width direction or longitudinal direction of the film; (2) a ratio (shrinkage stress after 30 seconds/maximum shrinkage stress) of the shrinkage stress after 30 seconds when the film is heat shrunk for 30 seconds in 90° C. hot air (shrinkage stress after 30 seconds) and the maximum shrinkage stress of from 75% to 100%; and (3) a hot-water shrinkage in the width direction of from 30% to 55% when, after aging the film for 672 hours in a 30° C.
