  • Publication number: 20010029449
Abstract: A voice recognizing apparatus includes a filter bank for deriving feature parameters of voice from a microphone and a filter bank for deriving feature parameters of noise represented by an electric signal which is directly inputted to a terminal. The voice parameters and the noise parameters are respectively stored in a voice parameter buffer and a noise parameter buffer. A threshold value for sampling the voice parameters is set to be changed in accordance with a noise level for each frame. From a series of the voice parameters exceeding the threshold value, a series of the noise parameters corresponding thereto are subtracted so that only a voice parameter pattern can be obtained. In a recognition mode, the voice pattern is compared with a reference pattern to recognize the voice from the microphone. In addition, in a registration mode, the voice pattern is registered as a reference pattern.

  • Patent number: 6236388
Abstract: A system for displaying images of varying resolution (i.e., XGA, SVGA, VGA) on a pixel-addressed screen surrounds selected-resolution images with blanked rows above and below the image and blanked columns to the left and the right of the displayed image. During the vertical blanking period, switches in the vertical scanning circuit blank non-image rows above and below the image, and, during horizontal scanning, switches in the horizontal scanning circuits blank columns on the left and right of each horizontal line so that the display image is bounded by a blanked screen portion. A black signal from a black-signal generator drives each blanked pixel to frame the displayed image in black.

  • Patent number: 6124903
Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device including a light shielding film, the liquid crystal display device having a structure capable of avoiding a gate line delay is provided. In the liquid crystal display device including a thin film transistor formed on a substrate, a portion of a light shielding film for shielding against incident light from the side of the substrate, except its portion for shielding the pixel transistor, is disposed under an additional capacitance line or between a gate line and the additional capacitance line and at a position avoiding the gate line, so that parasitic capacitance between the film and the gate line is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5818413
Abstract: A display apparatus comprises arrayed pixels, a vertical-scanning circuit, and a horizontal-scanning circuit. The vertical-scanning circuit outputs selection pulses one after another to sequentially scan pixels in one vertical-scanning period in units of lines. The horizontal-scanning circuit sends and writes a video signal into the pixel line selected by the sequential scanning in one horizontal-scanning period. The vertical-scanning circuit is provided with a switching section to control the consecutive outputs of the selection pulses and to adjust the number of pixel lines to be selected in one horizontal period according to the specification of the video signal used. This configuration enables both noninterlaced drive and interlaced drive.

  • Patent number: 5809454
Abstract: A audio reproducing apparatus includes an audio decoder and a voice speed converting unit. The audio decoder decodes an audio data stream to produce an audio signal. The voice speed converting unit converts the audio signal in such a manner that when a bit rate is higher than a normal bit rate, a pitch of a reproduced sound interval is the same as the pitch of the sound interval in a normal playback mode and a voice speed in the reproduced sound interval approaches a voice speed in a sound interval in the normal playback mode. The voice speed converting unit further performs voice speed conversion on the audio signal in such a manner that when the bit rate is lower than the normal bit rate, the sound interval is not noticeably interrupted.

  • Patent number: 5611018
Abstract: In a voice speed converting system according to the present invention, an input sound signal is subjected to voice speed conversion processing by a voice speed conversion processing device. Output from the voice speed conversion processing device is written to a ring memory. Data written to the ring memory are read out at a predetermined speed. The amount of stored data in the ring memory is calculated on the basis of a write signal and a read signal for the ring memory by stored data amount calculating device. The voice speed converting device includes a section judging device that judges which of a voice section and a silence section corresponds to the input sound signal. The input sound signal is subjected to compression and expansion processing or deletion processing, in response to an output of the section judging device and an output of the stored data amount calculating device by a signal processing device.

  • Patent number: 5301227
Abstract: In an automatic dial telephone that is usuable in a motor vehicle, when a voice input is provided during a period in which input of the names of called parties is awaited, a voice pattern of the name of the called party is compared with reference patterns of called parties stored in reference pattern storing device, to determine the degree of the similarity therebetween. The names of the called parties are output to a user in the order of decreasing degree of similarity. Each time the name of a called party is output, a command word for confirmation is a waited from a user for a predetermined time period. When a voice confirmation command is input and is recognized during this waiting period, a telephone number corresponding to the name of the called party is supplied to a channel. Consequently, the command word for confirmation may be input only if the name of the called party outputted is one desired by the user.

  • Patent number: 4916735
Abstract: The invention is directed to a prower-supply transfer apparatus for a telephone wherein the power supply is fed from a telephone line by a power supply transferring circuit when the operation has been decided as a low speed operation by a speed deciding circuit, the power supply is fed from a separate power supply circuit by the power-supply transferring circuit when the operation has been decided as the high speed operation, so that the low-speed operation is performed through the speed control by the speed decision result not only when the processing may be performed even at the low speed operation in the common telephone or the like, but also when the high-speed processing is required in voice recognition or the like.
