  • Patent number: 5433160
Abstract: A sewing machine is provided with an automatic anti-loosening-stitcher mode selector switch for activating and deactivating the anti-loosening-stitcher mode in which anti-loosening-stitches are formed after the completion of a stitch pattern, and an automatic thread-cutter mode selector switch for activating and deactivating the thread-cutter mode in which threads are cut after the completion of a stitch pattern. When only the automatic thread-cutter mode selector switch is operated to set the thread-cutter activated mode, a CPU sets automatically both the anti-loosening-stitcher activated mode and the thread-cutter activated mode to form anti-loosening-stitches after the completion of a stitch pattern before cutting the threads so that stitches forming the end portion of the stitch pattern are prevented from loosening.

  • Patent number: 5097775
Abstract: A threading device comprising a stretching member, a moving member, a threading member and an actuator. The actuator receives threading instructions and drives the moving member. The moving member moves the thread stretched by the stretching member to the front or the rear of the eye in the needle. The threading member threads the eye with the thread positioned in front or at the rear of the eye. The actuator can thus control the movement of the moving member. The thread can securely be positioned in a given position in front or at the rear of the eye, and the threading member can accurately thread the eye in the needle.

  • Patent number: 5050381
Abstract: A master cylinder apparatus for a vehicle is adapted to be attached to a bar type steering handle. This master cylinder apparatus comprises a master cylinder attached directly or via a bracket to the bar type steering handle, an operating level pivoted on the bracket or a lever bracket of the master cylinder by means of a support shaft, an adjust bolt provided thrustable forward and backward to the operating lever, and a push rod having one end abutting on the rear end of a piston in the master cylinder and the other end pivoted on a free end of the adjust bolt. The forward/backward thrusting movement of the adjust bolt alters the distance between the support shaft and the point of action of the operating lever to the push rod, thereby changing the lever ratio of the operating lever to provide the operational feeling desired by a rider.

  • Patent number: 4485897
Abstract: A disc brake having a caliper assembly support bracket and caliper assembly arranged with the caliper assembly slidably mounted in a U-shaped mounting socket to slide perpendicular to the braking surfaces of the brake disc. Brake pads extend between mounting faces of the socket on either side of the brake disc in such a way that the braking forces are resisted by the sliding engagement of the brake pads on the mounting faces. The interface width of the pads is increased to give better torsional resistance to the braking forces and hard stainless steel liners are disclosed for the mounting faces to extend the life of the support bracket.

  • Patent number: 4469008
Abstract: A negative pressure type booster arrangement comprises a pair of booster shells divided by a booster piston disposed therein for reciprocating movement into a constantly negative pressure chamber and a variable pressure chamber. The second chamber is always put in interchangeable communication with the first chamber via a control valve mechanism. An input rod is retractively connected to the booster piston, and is also connected to the valve control mechanism for permitting the booster piston to follow advancement of the input rod due to a difference in air pressure between both chambers. An input transmitting lever is mounted on the rear end of the input rod. A first arm is provided for supporting an operating lever extending successively from the booster shells and for pivotally supporting one end of the input transmitting lever, and a second arm is provided for supporting an operating wire.

  • Patent number: 4371059
Abstract: An automatic adjusting device in a disc brake for adjusting a clearance between a brake disc and a friction pad. A fixed pin is axially disposed within a hydraulic cylinder, and a regulating plate frictionally fitted over, the fixed pin is connected to the piston through a return spring having a given deformation allowance. The fixed pin, the regulating plate and the return spring cooperate to automatically move the piston backward at all times in a given amount and accurately. The amount of backward movement of the piston is sufficiently obtained by selection of a predetermined deformation allowance of the return spring, thus automatically and sufficiently obtaining a clearance between the brake disc and the friction pad.

  • Patent number: 4369862
Abstract: A bracket of simplified, generally rectilinear form carries a pair of slide pins, on which the brake caliper is slidably mounted, at locations substantially aligned with each other radially of the brake disc and on that side of the brake caliper on which the rotating disc leaves the caliper behind. Use of such bracket enables substantial reduction in size and weight of the whole brake assembly. One of the slide pins located relatively close to the axis of the brake disc is removable and an ample working space is obtainable for exchange of the brake pads by swinging the caliper radially outwardly of the disc about the axis of the other slide pin. The brake pads are slidably mounted on a pair of hanger pins removably fitted to the caliper and normally held in place thereon by simple retainer means.
