    Abstract: A high-speed interrogation system is provided for interferometric sensors, one example of which is an EFPI sensor, that operates based on spectral interference. The system uses a two mode operation that includes a lower speed, accurate absolute measurement mode and a higher speed, relative measurement mode. The system achieves greater overall measurement accuracy and speed than known sensor interrogation approaches.

    Abstract: A dual robotic sorting apparatus for identifying and sorting a product with at least two different sorting mechanisms is provided. In the preferred embodiment, the dual robotic sorting apparatus illuminates and images the product using at least one light source and imaging device, analyzes the image, and activates a specific sorting mechanism of a robotic arm to sort the product; wherein the dual sorting mechanism is a vacuum pickup tool, that picks up and places products in another location, and vacuum transport tool, that utilizes a suction tube to transport products to another location. Additionally, a plurality of robotic sorting apparatuses may be utilized. In the preferred embodiment of the dual robotic sorter, the CPU is capable of determining the most efficient method and type of pickup for each product identified for sorting.

The invention operatively couples one or more curved pieces in a mounting fixture, wherein each of the one or more curved pieces comprise a convex surface or a concave surface. Furthermore, the invention accesses a flattened image of the convex outer surface or the concave inner surface of one or more generally curved pieces and disposes pigment on the convex surface or the concave surface of the one or more curved pieces according to the flattened image. Further embodiments may be directed towards printing on curved pieces such as glass eyes.

  • INTEGRATED SUBSTRATE DEFECT DETECTION USING PRECISION COATING

    Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for improved substrate defect detection is provided. Substrate defects may be detected, possibly with defect detection equipment such as laser metrology equipment. Defects smaller than the detection limit of the detection equipment may be decorated with a layer of material to increase the effective sizes of the defects. The thickness and composition of the material deposited may be tuned depending on the composition of the substrate and the defects. The composition of the detected defects may be identified with defect identification equipment. The defect identification equipment may be an electron generating apparatus and the composition of the defects may be identified from the interaction of the electrons with the defect. The deposited material may be removed either before or during the defect identification phase to aid in the identification of the defect composition.
