  • Publication number: 20180086104
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems and methods for printing on a convex or concave glass surface and for an apparatus for holding the one or more work pieces for printing. The invention operatively couples one or more curved pieces in a mounting fixture, wherein each of the one or more curved pieces comprise a convex surface or a concave surface. Furthermore, the invention accesses a flattened image of the convex outer surface or the concave inner surface of one or more generally curved pieces and disposes pigment on the convex surface or the concave surface of the one or more curved pieces according to the flattened image. Further embodiments may be directed towards printing on curved pieces such as glass eyes.

  • Patent number: 9859138
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for improved substrate defect detection is provided. Substrate defects may be detected, possibly with defect detection equipment such as laser metrology equipment. Defects smaller than the detection limit of the detection equipment may be decorated with a layer of material to increase the effective sizes of the defects. The thickness and composition of the material deposited may be tuned depending on the composition of the substrate and the defects. The composition of the detected defects may be identified with defect identification equipment. The defect identification equipment may be an electron generating apparatus and the composition of the defects may be identified from the interaction of the electrons with the defect. The deposited material may be removed either before or during the defect identification phase to aid in the identification of the defect composition.

  • Publication number: 20170364216
Abstract: Systems, apparatus and methods are provided to maintain a user-populated online repository of science protocols. A user may create a science protocol by inputting information relating to one or more steps of an experiment. The created science protocol may be stored in the protocol database. A user may search the protocol database using a navigable menu for accessing a plurality of application functionalities associated with the protocol database. Based on the search, a user may be able to retrieve and download the created science protocol. The user may be able to modify and/or annotate the created science protocol. The modified and/or annotated science protocol may be stored in the protocol database as a modified and/or annotated version of the created science protocol.

  • Publication number: 20170257749
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system of locating mobile devices and building a database of the mobile device locations through the interaction of mobile devices with one or more proximity activation systems. The method and system uses beacon proximity activity to refine the location of a beacon and the relative position of one or more mobile devices to the beacon through a multiple activation point distance calculation. As mobile devices come within a pre-determined proximity to a beacon, applications installed on the mobile devices supply a location and identity of the mobile device at the time of activation. The system and method uses numerous activations to refine and report the physical location of the beacon.
