  • Patent number: 11568410
Abstract: A system and method for preventing fraudulent credit card or debit card transactions by coupling a smart phone to the credit card or the debit card, and transmitting identification information from the smart phone to the card. The card is normally disabled such that no transaction may take place unless the card is enabled. The card receives the transmitted identification information and compares that information to corresponding information stored on the card. If the received information matches the stored information, the card is enabled thus allowing the transaction to take place.

  • Patent number: 11499751
Abstract: To facilitate a wall-mounted installation of multi-unit water heaters in a location with limited clear wall space, spacer brackets may be installed on the wall to extend a mounting surface away from a plane of the wall. A mounting bracket may be attached to the mounting surface of the spacer brackets. To reduce installation time and costs, a plurality of water heaters may be affixed to a frame prior to installation. A hot water, cold water, and fuel supply manifolds may be coupled to each hot water outlet, cold water inlet, and fuel supply inlet, respectively, of the plurality of water heaters. The mounting bracket comprises a mounting shelf configured to receive the frame, thereby securing the multi-unit water heater system to the wall. The multi-unit water heating system, the spacer brackets, and the mounting bracket may be provided as a kit.

  • Publication number: 20220347796
Abstract: The systems and methods disclosed herein utilize a beam-forming system configured to convert a Gaussian laser beam into an annular vortex laser beam having a relatively large depth of focus, which enables the processing of thick or stacked glass-based objects annular laser beam is defined in part by a topological charge m that defines an amount of rotation of the annular vortex beam around its central axis as it propagates annular vortex beam is used to form micro-holes in a glass-based object using either a one-step or a two-step method micro-holes formed by either process can be in the form of recesses or through-holes, depending on the application size of the micro-holes can be controlled by controlling the size of the annular vortex beam over the depth of focus range.

  • Patent number: 11486586
Abstract: A hot water circulation system comprises a water heater having a cold-water inlet and a hot water outlet. A water pump circulates water through the water heater to produce hot water. The hot water is circulated to a thermal bypass valve, which is configured to close when hot water contacts a heat activated seal. A bypass circuit is coupled between the hot water outlet and the cold water inlet of the water heater. The bypass circuit prevents hot water from circulating from the hot water outlet to the cold-water inlet when the thermal bypass valve is open and promotes circulating hot water from the hot water outlet to the cold water inlet when the thermal bypass valve is closed. Upon a temperature sensor sensing hot water entering the cold-water inlet, the water heater turns of the water pump.

  • Patent number: 11475430
Abstract: A distributed transaction management computing system is configured for detecting transaction-specific data discrepancies that result from data calculations performed by different processing instances executing on geographically-distributed computing entities. The transaction-specific data discrepancies are identified via a network-accessible operations computing entity in electronic communication with a plurality of geographically-distributed edge computing entities. The operations computing entity defines at least two separate processing instances, wherein a first processing instance is configured to generate secondary data for individual transactions in the event that the edge computing entities do not themselves generate the transaction-specific secondary data; and wherein a second processing instance is configured to generate audit data for individual transactions.

  • Publication number: 20220317576
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and a method in which off-droplet measurements instead of on-droplet measurements of prepulse energy are used for pulse energy control. Prepulse energy is measured during an off-droplet nonexposure period and controlled to a prepulse energy setpoint. The prepulse energy can then be controlled open-loop to the prepulse energy setpoint during on-droplet periods. This effectively decouples the EUV dose control loop from the prepulse energy control loop and avoids negative side effects of coupling such loops, for example, loss of the part of the dose adjustment range available to the dose controller.
