  • Patent number: 10876701
Abstract: A programmable glare-free high beam device onboard a vehicle includes a plurality of light sources and an input coupler for combining light from the plurality of light sources. A focusing lens is adapted to receive light emitted from the input coupler and focus the light onto a digital micro-mirror device (DMD). The DMD has a plurality of individual micro-mirrors for reflecting light received from the focusing lens. A projection lens is adapted to receive light from the DMD and to project the light to form a spot distribution of a high beam light pattern. A plurality of auxiliary optics are adapted to form a broadened distribution of the high beam light pattern. A controller is provided for adaptively controlling the plurality of LEDs, the DMD, and the plurality of auxiliary optics to actively dim or turn off portions of the high beam light pattern.

  • Patent number: 10862278
Abstract: The disclosed invention ensures safe operation of an electrical switchgear by preventing an operator from contacting or interacting with an active circuit breaker. The locking system prevents a door to the interior of the switchgear from opening until the circuit breaker is in a disengaged position. A circuit breaker decoupler, accessible from the exterior of the switchgear, directly manipulates the circuit breaker into disengagement and also allows physical manipulation of the circuit breaker. By having the decoupler and tool interface in the same device, this removes the need to open the arc covers, negating arc resistance.

  • Patent number: 10840680
Abstract: A cable preparation machine includes a blade assembly having a plurality of arms and braid blades mounted to the corresponding arms. The arms and the braid blades are disposed about a cable opening configured to receive an end of a cable therein along a cable axis. The arms are movable relative to each other between retracted positions and advanced positions. The arms move the braid blades closer to each other within the cable opening as the arms are moved from the retracted positions to the advanced positions. The braid blades have edges configured to engage a cable braid of the cable. The braid blades are driven inward by the arms moving to the advanced positions to pinch the cable braid inward against an inner insulator of the cable and flare outward an end of the cable braid forward of the braid blades.

  • Publication number: 20200356445
Abstract: A backup, search, and restore service is provided. The service can be achieved through a backup system, and a search and restore server. A user can be enabled to initiate a search request for one or more data items. A search can be performed by the search and restore server using metadata for the data items backed up by the backup system to return the one or more data items. The metadata for the data items can be generated by the backup system when data items are backed up by the backup system. The backup system may back up the data items on an incremental basis. The user can be enabled to select a data item in the one or more data items for restoration on the data system. Header information of the selected data item can be obtained from the data system to determine whether the restoration is necessary.

  • Patent number: 10832170
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods are disclosed for data driven expertise mapping. The systems and methods provide for obtaining data sets from data sources, wherein the data sets include services related data, analyzing the data sets, wherein the analysis generates information representative of the services related data, and generating training sets related to the data sets, wherein the training sets are based on known values. The systems and methods further provide for generating models, wherein the models are based on determining services provided by service providers using a combination of the services related data, the analysis of the data sets and the training sets, and provide a mapping of at least one service to service providers. The systems and methods additionally include evaluating the models based on known values and storing an indication for providing to a graphical user interface based on more models.

  • Patent number: 10810171
Abstract: In an example, data from a source location is merged into a target location containing existing data, in which the source location and the target location contain tuples of data. For each tuple in the source location, during a single operation, a determination is made as to whether there is a matched tuple in the target location that satisfies a predetermined condition. For each matched tuple that satisfies the predetermined condition, the matched tuple in the target location is updated with a count value that is equal to a count of the matched tuple in the source location and the target location. In addition, for each tuple that does not have a matched tuple that satisfies the predetermined condition, the unmatched tuple is inserted into the target location.

Abstract: An exemplary detection apparatus includes a housing having one or more sensors of one or more sensor types, an optional port for detachably mounting one or more of the sensors, and an optional motive system associated with a mode of transport for movement in an area of interest. A sensor circuit receives a signal originating from the one or more sensors, identifies the signal, optionally processes the signal data, and packages the raw signal data or processed signal data, as applicable, for transmission over a network. A control circuit establishes communication with the network for sending or receiving sensor data to/from other devices connected to the network, and controls the motive system for moving the apparatus to locations in the area of interest.

  • Publication number: 20200311881
Abstract: In one embodiment, a computing system may receive current eye-tracking data associated with a user of a head-mounted display. The system may dynamically adjust a focal length of the head-mounted display based on the current eye-tracking data. The system may generate an in-focus image of a scene and a corresponding depth map of the scene. The system may generate a circle-of-confusion map for the scene based on the depth map. The circle-of-confusion map encodes a desired focal surface in the scene. The system may generate, using a machine-learning model, an output image with a synthesized defocus-blur effect by processing the in-focus image, the corresponding depth map, and the circle-of-confusion map of the scene. The system may display the output image with the synthesized defocus-blur effect to the user via the head-mounted display having the adjusted focal length.

  • Publication number: 20200268572
Abstract: A three-dimensional substrate has a central longitudinal axis extending perpendicular to a central lateral axis. A line taken in a direction parallel to or perpendicular to the central lateral axis of the three-dimensional substrate has a non-apertured, first visually discernible zone in the substrate and a second visually discernible zone in the substrate. The first visually discernable zone has a pattern of three-dimensional features on a first surface or a second surface. At least some of the three-dimensional features define a microzone having a first region and a second region. The first region and the second region have a difference in value for an intensive property. The second visually discernable zone defines apertures. The apertures have an Effective Aperture Area in a range of about 0.3 mm2 to about 15 mm2.

  • Patent number: 10740876
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system may access a training sample from a training dataset, including a training image of a scene and a corresponding depth map. The system may access a circle-of-confusion map for the scene, which is generated based on the depth map and encodes a desired focal surface in the scene. The system may generate an output image by processing the training image, the corresponding depth map, and the corresponding circle-of-confusion map using a machine-learning model. The system may update the machine-learning model based on a comparison between the generated output image and a target image depicting the scene with a desired defocus-blur effect. The updated machine-learning model is configured to generate images with defocus-blur effect based on input images and corresponding depth maps.
