  • Patent number: 10270673
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining a unique audience exposed to media while reducing memory resources of a computing device are disclosed herein. An example method includes receiving impression requests at a server from a plurality of client devices via a network; based on the impression requests, logging, with the server, a plurality of impressions corresponding to the media accessed at the client devices; obtaining a number of demographic impressions logged by a database proprietor; obtaining a number of registered users of the database proprietor exposed to the media; multiplying, by executing an instruction with a processor, a number of the plurality of impressions by a square of the number of the registered users to generate a product; dividing, by executing an instruction with the processor, the product by a number of the demographic impressions to generate a quotient; and determining, by executing an instruction with the processor, the unique audience based on a square root of the quotient.

  • Publication number: 20180330413
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method determines characteristics of a user that is viewing a video and analyzes presentation data describing products within a presentation. A product opportunity is selected based on the characteristics of the user and the presentation data for a product. The method selects first metadata for the presentation data and second metadata for the product associated with the presentation data. Then, the method dynamically inserts the first metadata for the presentation data and second metadata for the product into a portion of the video and sends the portion of the video to the user. The product is displayed in the video using the presentation data at the product opportunity.

  • Patent number: 9838754
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for over the top (OTT) media measurement are disclosed herein. Example methods include comparing, with an on-site meter in communication with an OTT service provider server, household data maintained by the OTT service provider server with anonymized panelist data provided by an audience measurement entity to identify a first person predicted to be included in a first household according to the anonymized panelist data but not included in the first household according to the household data, accessing media impressions collected by the OTT service provider server and corresponding to media accessed with a first OTT device associated with the first household, and crediting, with the on-site meter, usage of the first OTT device associated with access of the media to the first person based on the media impressions and demographic data obtained from the anonymized panelist data and attributed to the first person.

  • Publication number: 20160379246
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to estimate an unknown audience size from recorded impressions for an online media. The estimate of the unknown audience size for the online media is based on a total number of initial impressions and a frequency distribution of recorded demographic impressions across a partial audience size for the online media. The estimate of the unknown audience size is determined by modeling the probability of obtaining the frequency distribution of the recorded demographic impressions across the partial audience for different possible unknown audience sizes in a range of unknown audience sizes and determining an estimate for the unknown audience size by evaluating the models for the different possible unknown audience sizes.

  • Publication number: 20160191970
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to correct for deterioration of a demographic model to associate demographic information with media impression information are disclosed. An example method includes estimating first and second ages of audience members based on demographic information; estimating a third age of an audience member who is not included in the audience members; applying a window function to the second ages to determine a distribution of ages based on the third age; multiplying window values by the first ages to determine corrected first age components; dividing a total of the corrected first age components by a sum of the window values to determine an estimated age of the audience member at a first time; and determining the corrected age of the audience member at a second time based on the estimated age of the audience member at the first time and a time difference between the first and second times.
