  • Patent number: 10983751
Abstract: Various implementations include audio devices and related computer-implemented methods for controlling playback of augmented reality (AR) audio. In some cases, a method includes: receiving a first audio notification from one of a set of applications; determining an importance value for the first audio notification; detecting an activity state of the audio device, the activity state assigned to a notification importance threshold; and either: delaying release of the first audio notification at the audio device in response to the importance value failing to meet the notification importance threshold, or releasing the first audio notification at the audio device in response to the importance value meeting or exceeding the notification importance threshold.

  • Publication number: 20210097547
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for providing instructions when receiving biometric data associated with a user. For instance, a user-recognition device may detect a portion of a user, such as a hand. The user-recognition device may then display a first graphical element indicating a target location for placing the portion of the user above the user-recognition device. Additionally, the user-recognition device may determine locations of the portion of the user above the user-recognition device. The user-recognition device may then display a second graphical element indicating the locations, such as when the locations are not proximate to the target location. Additionally, the user-recognition device may display instructions for moving the portion of the user to the target location. Based on detecting that the location of the portion of the user is proximate to the target location, the user-recognition device may send data representing the portion of the user to a remote system.

  • Publication number: 20210080751
Abstract: Rotational alignment apparatus and methods for interchangeable loupe telescope(s) are provided. Some embodiments include an indexing ring including a projection. The ring is fixed to the telescope upon rotational alignment of the telescope. The alignment may involve use of a laser and test fixture. The projection mates with a corresponding indexing notch of a loupe anchoring device. Loupes may comprise one or more anchor assemblies, and one or more interchangeable telescope assemblies. The interchangeable telescope assemblies are held to the anchor assemblies by magnetic attraction between one or more magnets and/or one or more magnetic components affixed to corresponding surfaces of the corresponding assemblies. Mating of the projection with the notch ensures appropriate relative rotational alignment of the assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20210008649
Abstract: A hole cutter has a substantially cylindrical blade body defining a blade body circumference, a cutting edge formed on one end of the blade body, and an axially-elongated slot formed through the substantially cylindrical blade body. The axially-elongated slot is configured to receive chips flowing from the cutting edge within the interior of the blade body and (i) into the slot and/or (ii) through the slot, to prevent the collection of such chips within the interior of the blade body and/or at an interface between the blade body and the work piece. The axially-elongated slot defines a first end adjacent to the cutting edge, a second end axially spaced further from the cutting edge, and a slot area. The hole cutter further defines a total slot area to blade body circumference ratio within the range of about 0.1 to about 0.3 depending on the size of the hole cutter.

  • Publication number: 20200393083
Abstract: A pump, such as a vacuum pump, includes at least one housing and a motor and oil reservoir disposed within the housing. The pump housing can include a bottom exterior surface and one or more side and/or front exterior surfaces that extend generally up from the bottom exterior surface. An oil drain port can be positioned at or near the intersection of the bottom exterior surface and the side or front exterior surface. The housing can include an interior bottom surface that defines at least a portion of a drain passageway for the pump and can be fluidicly coupled to the oil reservoir. At least a portion of the interior bottom surface can be angled downward at an acute angle to the horizontal towards the oil drain port to improve the draining and replacement of oil in the pump.

  • Publication number: 20200383868
Abstract: This application discloses systems and methods of applying vibration to a targeted area on an individual that is experiencing pain, discomfort, or other musculoskeletal symptoms. Steps of the method include lengthening followed by oscillation and vibration. The lengthening step requires positioning the individual (e.g., with the help of a stretching cage) such that the individual experiences a stretching sensation in a targeted area (e.g., a group of muscles, ligaments, tendons, etc.). Next, the individual oscillates in and out of that lengthened position while vibration is applied to the targeted area. It has been discovered that these techniques can bring about dramatic and quick improvements in flexibility and range of motion, while also diminishing symptoms like pain and discomfort.

  • Publication number: 20200315917
Abstract: An apparatus to preserve a first fluid of a medicine vial is provided. The apparatus may include a vial coupling member comprising a housing and a flexible membrane. The housing and the flexible membrane form a vial coupling member cavity within the vial coupling member. The apparatus may also include a first fluid pathway forming a first lumen that is in fluid communication with the vial coupling member cavity. The apparatus may further include a second fluid pathway forming a second lumen that is in fluid communication with the vial coupling member cavity. When the flexible membrane engages the medicine vial, the flexible membrane forms a sealed environment over a medicine vial septum. When the flexible membrane engages the medicine vial, the flexible membrane permits the first lumen and the second lumen to establish fluid communication with an interior space of the medicine vial.

  • Publication number: 20200302147
Abstract: A biometric input device includes a sensor assembly that generates images of a user's palm that is within a field of view (FOV) using an image sensor behind a polarizer with a first polarization. The palm within the FOV is illuminated at different times with light having the first polarization and the second polarization. The images are acquired using polarized light and provide images of surface and subcutaneous features. The images may then be processed to identify the user. The device may include a touchscreen to provide information to the user or receive input from a user. The device may include a stand to mount the device at a convenient location, such as at an entry portal, point of sale, and so forth.

  • Patent number: 10755803
Abstract: Embodiments allow for the retrieval of information identifying the current context (patient being seen, medical record associated with the patient, or medical field selected) of a practice member. That information may be used as a key for subsequent API calls to match data submitted with records in an EHR system. In addition, a confidence level may be associated with that context. The confidence level may describe the level of confidence that context is correctly associated with that key.
