As a bolt is inserted into the hexagonal opening the threads of the bolt mesh into those of the nuts. The compressional force provided by a rectangular spring provides the necessary force to push the row of nuts forward and prevent the nut held in the opening from unintentionally falling out of the tool. The tool can be used to repeatedly tighten nuts onto bolts without personal handling.
