  • Publication number: 20240091498
Abstract: A therapeutic agent delivery catheter system includes an elongate tube defining a lumen therein formed from biocompatible material and sized to insert in a patient. The elongate tube has a length that extends to reach a treatment region of the patient. A pattern of slits forming microvalves penetrates an outer wall of the tube. The slits are small enough to remain closed to contain a solution of therapeutic agent, and are configured to open in response to a pressure pulse in the lumen and emit a microjet of therapeutic agent from each slit in the pattern of slits distributed along the rostro caudal extent of the implanted catheter.

  • Patent number: 11726069
Abstract: A method for evaluating a target, the target having a surface, includes pulsing a defined, energetic particle beam through the surface and into the target such that particle energy deposition from the particle beam is concentrated in a subsurface target volume within a target medium of the target. The deposited particle energy induces a thermoelastic expansion of the target medium in the target volume that generates a corresponding acoustic wave. The method further includes detecting the acoustic wave from the target medium.

  • Patent number: 11058771
Abstract: A patch for treating vascular ulcers caused by excessive enzymatic activity may include a substrate configured to span a vascular ulcer as well as a linking material that is disposed relative to the substrate and has an affinity for an enzyme involved in causing the vascular ulcer. A magnetic material may be coupled to the linking material. In some cases, the enzymes involved in causing the vascular ulcer may become coupled to the linking material and thus become coupled to the magnetic material so that that the enzymes can be removed by applying a magnetic field in the proximity of the vascular ulcer. The enzymes may include matrix metalloproteinases.
