  • Patent number: 10932262
Abstract: A device implementing unified coordination of wireless communications over multiple physical layers may include a MAC module communicatively coupled to first and second physical layer modules that are each configured to communicate with another device over first and second physical wireless channels, respectively. The MAC module may be configured to provide data to the first physical layer module for transmission to the another device over the first physical wireless channel, where the first physical wireless channel is associated with a first link parameter. The MAC module may be further configured to facilitate initializing the second physical wireless channel based at least in part on the first link parameter of the first physical wireless channel, and after initialization of the second physical wireless channel, provide second data to the second physical layer module for transmission to the another device over the second physical wireless channel.

  • Patent number: 10848265
Abstract: In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for extending a range of wireless communication. In one aspect, a first station device from one or more stations receives a trigger frame comprising a predetermined bit from an access point. The first station device may transmit to the access point a first response message in a first format during a first time period, in response to detecting the predetermined bit in the trigger frame. The first station device may transmit to the access point, a second response message in a second format during a second time period, in response to detecting the predetermined bit in the trigger frame. The first station device may receive, from the access point, a downlink frame during a third time period after the first time period and the second time period.

  • Patent number: 10681771
Abstract: A device implementing unified media access control (MAC) for multiple physical layer devices may include at least one processor communicatively coupled to first and second physical layer modules that are configured to communicate with another device over first and second wireless channels, respectively. The at least one processor may be configured to receive one or more data items to be transmitted to the another device and to select at least one of the first or second physical layer modules for transmission of the one or more data items based at least in part on a first condition of the first physical wireless channel and a condition of the second physical wireless channel. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide the one or more data items to the selected at least one of the first or second physical layer modules for transmission to the another device.

  • Patent number: 10674524
Abstract: In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for coexistence management. A first access point operating in an unlicensed frequency band using a first RAT receives, from a second access point operating in the unlicensed frequency band using a second RAT, information regarding operation of the second access point in the unlicensed frequency band. It is determined, using the received information, that the first access point or the second access point is using a first share of the unlicensed frequency band that is below a predetermined threshold, indicating an imbalance of usage between the first RAT and the second RAT. A transmission parameter of the first access point for operating in the unlicensed frequency band using the first RAT is adjusted according to the determination.

  • Patent number: 10667262
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for conducting wireless communication are provided. One method includes identifying a location of the apparatus. The method further includes obtaining spectrum usage data from a database. The spectrum usage data indicates a licensed entity licensed within an area including the location of the apparatus to communicate across a first sub-band of frequencies within a frequency band. The frequency band includes a plurality of channels each having a fixed width. The method further include determining a first set of one or more of the plurality of channels containing the first sub-band of frequencies over which the licensed entity is licensed to communicate. The method further includes conducting wireless transmissions on a second set of one or more of the plurality of channels that do not contain the first sub-band of frequencies while disabling wireless transmissions on the first set of channels.

  • Publication number: 20200068561
Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for wireless communication in a wireless network include generation of a bandwidth query report poll (BQRP) frame by an access point and transmission of the BQRP frame to multiple wireless stations. The BQRP frame includes a bandwidth query for each station. Each wireless station receives the BQRP frame and generates a bandwidth query report. The bandwidth query report includes channel availability information at a corresponding wireless station. The access point allocates channel resources to each wireless station according to the channel availability information.

  • Patent number: 10560850
Abstract: In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for coexistence management. A first access point is scheduled a time to begin transmission of a packet to a user device in an unlicensed frequency band using a first RAT. The time to begin the transmission is scheduled to avoid transmission overlap with a second access point using a second RAT in the unlicensed frequency band, and scheduled according to information from the second access point regarding operation in the unlicensed frequency band using the second RAT. One of the first and second RATs includes one of a WLAN RAT or a LTE based RAT, and another of the first and second RATs includes a remaining one of the WLAN RAT or the LTE based RAT, in one or more embodiments. The first access point receives updated information regarding operation in the unlicensed frequency band using the second RAT.
