Publication number: 20090020623Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for providing air to an injector nozzle. An injector nozzle is in fluid communication with a dosing fluid input. An opening substantially circumscribes the injector nozzle. The injector nozzle is directed toward the opening, injecting a fluid from the dosing fluid input through the opening. An injector air output is in fluid communication with an air input port and with the opening. The injector air output is directed toward the opening, injecting air from the air input port through the opening. The injector air output creates a positive air pressure around the injector nozzle.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2008Publication date: January 22, 2009Inventors: Tory Jaloszynski, Tim M. Patent number: 7122751Abstract: A platform of the type holding a plurality of normally-open electric switches in position for activation of a selected individual switch by application of a force in a direction normal to a surface of the switch by a portion of a human body. An exemplary platform according to the invention forms a dance platform on which a user steps to activate switches in accordance with instructions viewed on a video display device. A joining structure may by used to hold two platforms in a side-by-side competition arrangement. A security vault may be affixed to structure associated with platform to resist theft of a commercially available game controller adapted to operate the video display and to receive switch input from a platform. Certain aspects of the invention include one or more, typically inert, practice platforms structured to represent the user interface surface of an activatable platform. A method for using a system of active and inert platforms is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2004Date of Patent: October 17, 2006Assignee: Cobalt FluxInventors: Ladd Anderson, Matthew L. Patent number: 6929109Abstract: A currency evaluation device for receiving a stack of currency bills and rapidly evaluating all the bills in the stack. The device comprises an input receptacle for receiving a stack of bills to be evaluated and a plurality of output receptacles for receiving the bills after they have been evaluated. A transport mechanism transports the bills, one at a time, from the input receptacle to one of the output receptacles along a transport path. A discriminating unit including a detector positioned along the transport path between the input receptacle and the output receptacle evaluates the bills. The discriminating unit counts and determines the denomination of the bills. A means for flagging bills meeting or failing to meet a certain criteria causes the transport mechanism to halt in response to a determination that a bill meets or fails to meet the criteria.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2000Date of Patent: August 16, 2005Assignee: Cummins Allison Corp.Inventors: Robert J. Patent number: 6827345Abstract: A wedge-lock fastener is provided in which the distance by which the tongue protrudes beyond a workpiece may be controlled. The wedge-lock fastener may include a shank and an adjustable spacer member mounted upon the shank and adapted for controlled lengthwise movement relative thereto so as to adjust the position of the tongue with respect to the workpiece. Correspondingly, a method for installing a wedge-lock fastener is provided in which the respective forward ends of the tongue and tongs are inserted through aligned holes defined by two or more workpieces and the tongs are then retracted to clamp the workpieces together with the respective forward ends of the tongue and the tongs being disposed completely within a counterbore defined by a workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2003Date of Patent: December 7, 2004Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Matthew L. Anderson, William J. Koch

Patent number: 6398000Abstract: An apparatus for transferring a plurality of documents from a first compartment to a second compartment. The apparatus comprises a plunger assembly having a paddle adapted to contact the documents, and at least one outwardly extending arm hingedly connected to the plunger assembly. A gate is disposed between the first compartment and the second compartment forming a document supporting surface. The gate has an open position and a closed position. At least one lever extends from the gate, the lever being in a first position when the gate is in the closed position and the lever being in a second position when the gate is in the open position. The gate moves from the closed position to the open position when the paddle urges the documents against the gate from the first compartment towards the second compartment.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2000Date of Patent: June 4, 2002Assignee: Cummins-Allison Corp.Inventors: Charles P. Patent number: 6074334Abstract: A document facing apparatus for reversing the face orientation of a document includes four substantially similar document folding modules, each having a document gripping and advancing portion and a folding portion. The gripping and advancing portion engages the document along a first longitudinal half portion, with substantially the other longitudinal half portion extending outwardly of the gripping and advancing portion, and advances the entire document through the folding module. The document folding portion engages the document along its other longitudinal half portion and folds the other longitudinal half portion of the document to a substantially 90.degree. angle relative to its initial orientation upon entering the document folding portion. Four document folding modules may be aligned in a given sequence such that a document passing therethrough will have its face orientation reversed.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1998Date of Patent: June 13, 2000Assignee: Cummins-Allison Corp.Inventors: Douglas U.
