Publication number: 20240111450Abstract: A computer-implemented method for effectively delivering notifications in data storage environments includes, receiving, by a storage controller from a host system, a request to register the host system with the storage controller to receive notifications. These notifications may be associated with a selected type of event detected by the storage controller. In certain embodiments, the selected type of event is a space-related condition associated with a particular storage resource controlled by the storage controller. The computer-implemented method registers the host system with the storage controller. In response to detecting an event of the selected type on the storage controller, the computer-implemented method transmits a notification from the storage controller to the host system to provide notice of the event. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2022Publication date: April 4, 2024Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Beth Ann Peterson, Matthew Richard Craig, John G. Thompson, John R. Paveza, Nicolas Marc Clayton, Terry O'Connor, David Michael Shackelford

Patent number: 11861579Abstract: Systems and methods for an intelligent inventory system are disclosed. The systems and methods described herein may receive data from a point-of-sale (POS) device of a merchant indicating an item to add to an inventory catalog of the merchant. A rate may be determined that is associated with how many times the item may be returned or exchanged with a similarly-situated merchant. Additionally, or alternatively, the rate may comprise a fluctuation in price for the item and/or an amount of times the item may be re-stocked and/or re-ordered by the similarly-situated merchant. If the determined rate exceeds a threshold rate, a suggestion may be sent to the POS device of the merchant. The suggestion may comprise a suggested second item rather than the item requested, a suggested price to charge for the item suggested, and/or a suggested quantity to order of the item requested.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2018Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: Block, Inc.Inventors: Matthew Capers, Brian Stegall, Katherine Brennan, Marsal Gavalda, Matthew O'Connor

Publication number: 20230351409Abstract: A service provider that provides a plurality of merchant services can obtain first merchant information associated with a plurality of merchants registered with the service provider. The service provider can obtain intent data associated with the merchants indicating merchant service(s) that individual merchants of the plurality of merchants use or indicated interest in using during onboarding with the service provider. A machine learning model can be trained using the first merchant information and the intent data. The service provider can receive an indication that a potential merchant has initiated an onboarding process with the service provider. The service provider can determine second merchant information associated with the potential merchant and, based at least in part on the second merchant information and the machine learning model, can determine merchant service(s) of the service provider that the potential merchant is predicted to intend to use.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2023Publication date: November 2, 2023Inventors: Katherine Brennan, Bruce Bell, Brian Stegall, Matthew O'Connor, Timothy Donnelly, Jared Travis Marr, Christopher Cosgrove, Edward Ruder, Allyson Schrader

Patent number: 11720905Abstract: Intelligent merchant onboarding is described. A service provider can determine first directive(s) that were presented to one or more first potential merchants that completed an onboarding process with the service provider and second directive(s) that were presented to one or more second potential merchants that did not complete the onboarding process. The service provider can train a data model based at least partly on the first directive(s) or the second directive(s), Based at least partly on receiving an indication that a potential merchant initiates the onboarding process, the service provider can determine information associated with the potential merchant. Based at least partly on the data model and the information, the service provider can intelligently determine an order that one or more directives are to be presented to the potential merchant such that a first directive of the first directive(s) is presented prior to a second directive of the second directive(s).Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2022Date of Patent: August 8, 2023Assignee: Block, Inc.Inventors: Katherine Brennan, Bruce Bell, Brian Stegall, Matthew O'Connor, Timothy Donnelly, Jared Travis Marr, Christopher Cosgrove, Edward Ruder, Allyson Schrader

Patent number: 10366436Abstract: A particular item may be categorized based on delivery times of the particular item. In some instances, the particular item may be ranked across multiple merchants that are offering the particular item for acquisition. The ranking may be based on an estimated amount of delivery time to deliver the particular item, for the individual merchants, to a current location of a user. The estimated amount of delivery time may be based on a preparation time for the respective merchant to prepare the particular item, a courier time for a courier to transport the particular item to the current location of the user, and so on. Information regarding the ranking may be displayed or otherwise output to enable the user to identify and order the particular item from a merchant that satisfies the user's needs.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2014Date of Patent: July 30, 2019Assignee: SQUARE, INC.Inventors: Abhay Raj Kumar, Matthew O'Connor, Zachary Brock, James F. Patent number: 10127595Abstract: Item-level information of a particular item may be processed to categorize the particular item. In some instances, the particular item may be ranked across multiple merchants that are offering the particular item for acquisition. The ranking may be based on the item-level information that relates to an attribute of the particular item for the individual merchants. For example, the item-level information may include a cost of the particular item at a merchant, a rating of the particular item for a merchant, a number of calories of the particular item for a merchant, and so on. Information regarding the ranking may be displayed or otherwise output to enable the user to identify and order the particular item from a merchant that satisfies the user's needs.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2014Date of Patent: November 13, 2018Assignee: SQUARE, INC.Inventors: Daniel Hipschman, James F. Publication number: 20180117053Abstract: A panel of 12 EGFR inhibitors were screened for inhibition of EGFR phosphorylation in U87MG tumor cells engineered to express EGFR-viii. Compounds elicited a range of activity against phosphoY1173-EGFR. While one group of inhibitors had relatively weak activity against EGFR-viii (WZ4002, WZ8040, WZ3146, CO-1686, and AZD9291) another group had relatively potent activity against EGFR-viii (pelitinib, canertinib, PD168393, neratinib, AST-1306, and dacomitininb). The data described herein provide new methods of use for pelitinib, canertinib, AST-1306, and PD168393 against cancer, such as GBM, that express EGFR-viii. Furthermore, neratinib also exhibited selectivity towards splice variants EGFR-vii and EGFR-vvi compared to wild-type EGFR.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2016Publication date: May 3, 2018Applicant: Metastat, Inc.Inventors: Elizabeth A. Publication number: 20070138179Abstract: Container closure (10) engageable with a container having an interior for containing a fluid, water or drink, the container closure adapted to allow mixing of the fluid and a second material. The closure (10) has a movable mouthpiece (12), a fluid opening which is associated with sealing means (28, 29) adapted to substantially seal the fluid opening in a first position and allow fluid to flow in a second position. The closure also has a regulation ring (27) with bulbous portion (30) that can open and close an opening to a reservoir (13) containing the second material. The first fluid and second material are mixed in a passage prior to exiting the container closure.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2004Publication date: June 21, 2007Inventors: Glen Jacobs, Matthew O'Connor
