  • Publication number: 20240298041
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for detecting blockiness in frames of content are described herein. Frame of content may include blocks of pixels. Blockiness may be perceptible in encoded frames, once decoded, due to encoding-related artifacts and/or other artifacts related to processing and/or delivery of the content. Cumulative differences between neighboring pixel values within a frame on a row-by-row and/or a column-by-column basis may be represented in data, such as a data structure. The data may indicate an amount of blockiness within the frame. When the amount of blockiness is beyond an acceptable level, one or more remedial actions may be performed to lessen an amount of blockiness in other frames of the content.

  • Patent number: 12073694
Abstract: Cash trapping at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) is detected in real time. One or more images from one or more cameras are analyzed. The camera(s) is/are focused overhead of the ATM or on a cash slot of a dispense module for the ATM. The images are analyzed for determining one or more of whether the dispenser module is authentic, whether the cash slot opened or did not open when it should have opened for a cash withdraw, whether visual features of the dispense module have changed over a configurable period of time, and whether hands, gestures, and actions of a person present at the ATM indicate that cash trapping is taking place at the ATM. When cash trapping is detected at the ATM a variety of automated actions are processed, such as shutting down the dispense module, shutting down the ATM, notifying a financial institution, and/or notifying legal authorities.

  • Patent number: 12053722
Abstract: Devices and methods associated with these devices for significantly improving the efficiency of an existing or new filter having a granular media filter bed. The methods and devices are designed to increase the height and hence overall volume of the filter bed to allow for longer filtration runs between washing or cleaning cycles of the granular media filter bed. One embodiment includes a multi-wash trough adapter that upon removal of an existing deep wash trough connects two shallow wash troughs or two shallow wash trough channels to an existing wash trough opening formed in a wall of a filter compartment. The shallow members have a height significantly less than the height of the existing deep wash trough, e.g., one third to one half of the height of the existing deep wash trough allowing the volume of the granular media filter bed to be significantly increased.
