  • Patent number: 9261701
Abstract: A head-wearable device includes a center support extending in generally lateral directions, a first side arm extending from a first end of the center frame support and a second side arm extending from a second end of the center support. The device may further include a nosebridge that is removably coupled to the center frame support. The device may also include a lens assembly that is removably coupled to the center support or the nosebridge. The lens assembly may have a single lens, or a multi-lens arrangement configured to cooperate with display to correct for a user's ocular disease or disorder.

  • Patent number: 9204397
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure describe an on-head detection technique for an HMD that includes an optical sensor positioned to detect light reflected from at least one of a face of a user or a lens worn by the user. A flexible frame assembly supports an image source and further supports the optical sensor relative to the face or the lens when worn by the user. The flexible frame assembly flexes such that the optical sensor moves closer to at least one of the face or the lens when the HMD is worn by the user. Embodiments determine whether the user is wearing the HMD based on optical sensor data output from the optical sensor.

  • Patent number: 9134548
Abstract: According to aspects of the disclosure, a lens system may include lenses and a retention member. The lenses may be removably secured to a lens mounting surface of the retention member by one or more fixation elements. The retention member may also include a channel to receive a headband portion of a head wearable device.

  • Patent number: 9091852
Abstract: A head-wearable device includes a center support extending in generally lateral directions, a first side arm extending from a first end of the center frame support and a second side arm extending from a second end of the center support. The device further includes an extension arm configured to present information to the user via a display element. The extension arm extends at least partially along the first side arm on a first side of the center support and further extends from the first side arm to a display end that supports the display element in a position on a second side of the center support. The extension arm has a joint therein configured for movement of the display element at least in a direction having a lateral component relative to the center support.
