  • Patent number: 5151720
Abstract: A swizzle stick for stirring mixed drinks, the stick being convertible to a lensless ophthalmic device, making it possible for a typical individual having defective sight to see clearly regardless of the nature of the defect. The swizzle stick includes a strip section having a profile defining a pair of eyepieces joined to a nose piece and a handle extending from one of the eye pieces. Extending from the other eyepiece is a swizzle shank, the junction therebelow being scored so that the shank may be broken off to convert the stick to an ophthalmic device. Each eyepiece has a pattern of pin holes therein adapted to project a clear image of the object viewed by the related eye of the user of the device.

  • Patent number: 4962781
Abstract: A collapsible rolling cane adapted to assist an elderly or handicapped person in walking. The cane includes a front leg having a handle attached to its upper end at a height convenient to the user, a single front wheel being mounted on the lower end. A shorter tubular rear leg is pivotally connected at its upper end to the leaf of a first hinge joined to the front leg at a position below the upper end thereof. The lower end of the rear leg is joined to the midpoint of a transverse axle on either end of which a rear wheel is mounted.

  • Patent number: 4775768
Abstract: A pin switch which when actuated by a swingable door or other movable member breaks an electrical circuit. The switch includes a metal frame mountable on a panel and a hollow metal cylinder placed over a port in the frame and projecting from its rear. Received within the cylinder is the rear section of an insulation rod that extends through an end slot in the cylinder and terminates in a contact. The rear section is spring biased so that its contact normally engages the rear end of the cylinder which functions as the fixed contact of the switch, the switch then being closed. The front section of the rod projects forwardly from the port so that when it is pressed in by the door, the rod is axially displaced to effect disengagement of the contacts to open the switch. The front section of the rod is in a corrugated formation to define a series of equi-spaced annular grooves each marking an increment of rod length.

  • Patent number: 4298200
Abstract: A Tangram game assembly constituted by two sets of Tangram pieces capable of creating a variety of geometric or representational figures. Also included is a deck of cards, each having printed thereon a Tangram puzzle figure and the solution thereto at a position at which it is obscured in play. In play, a card is withdrawn from the deck and its front face presented to the players who with their respective sets of pieces then race to recreate the figure. The player who is first to succeed is awarded the card. Cards in the deck are played, the player who gains the greatest number being the winner. Any number of cards may be played depending on how long the players would like the game to last.

  • Patent number: 3942526
Abstract: An alarm system operative in conjunction with a venocylsis set which includes a drop chamber coupled to the output of a fluid bottle. The alarm system is provided with a float disposed in the drop chamber and responsive to the level of fluid pool therein. A proximity switch sensitive to the float position is removably attached to the exterior of the drop chamber to produce a switching action when the fluid level falls below a predetermined value. An alarm circuit is coupled to the proximity switch to generate a warning signal when the switching action occurs.
