  • Publication number: 20220151631
Abstract: The invention relates to the treatment of aneurysms, and more particularly to intravascular devices and methods for the occlusion of an aneurysm. The device includes a first portion having an expandable and compressible mesh having dimensions for insertion into and expansion against the wall of an aneurysm and a second disk portion having a flexible, collapsible mesh operatively connected to an outer surface of the first portion and having dimensions for covering an outside of the neck opening. The combination of the first portion and second disk portion have a combined resilient flexibility to effectively bias the second disk portion against the neck opening in a substantially flat manner when the first portion is engaged within the aneurysm.

  • Publication number: 20220054286
Abstract: The invention generally relates to co-axial stent and catheter systems and medical procedures utilizing these systems. The co-axial stent system is characterized by two-coaxial stents, including an outer resorbable stent and an inner metal stent used to effect deployment of the resorbable stent. The stents may use for treatment of unstable plaque and/or thrombus at the carotid bifurcation and particularly those that are not causing any significant stenosis. The stents may also be used for treatment of cerebral aneurysms. The invention further describes related, equipment, uses and kits for the treatment of unstable plaque and/or thrombus and/or aneurysms.

  • Publication number: 20210169509
Abstract: The invention describes catheter systems and methods for accessing the brain during endovascular/neurointervention procedures in the treatment of ischemic stroke. More specifically, a multi-axial catheter system and kit is described that improves the process of accessing a carotid artery particularly in patients having a tortuous aortic arch and thereafter improves the process of gaining access to the brain to enable the insertion of aspiration and/or the deployment clot retrieval devices. In addition, methods of utilizing these systems are described.

  • Publication number: 20210158963
Abstract: An automated system and method for assisting in decision making for the treatment of stroke patients is provided, and specifically for assisting a physician whether the patient should be administered a drug or transferred to another hospital to undergo an endovascular thrombectomy procedure. A variety of factors are input into the system with limited human intervention and a tool automatically determines the probability of whether the patient will have a better outcome if transferred or not. The factors include clinical factors, imaging factors and time to transfer factors. The tool includes processes for automatically determining several imaging factors, including the determination of clot length, collateral blood flow, the presence of forward blood flow within and around the clot, and the clot permeability. The tool has capability to continuously update the treatment protocol and other output results using current clinical, health system or other relevant information or feedback.

  • Patent number: 10932802
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for retrieving a blood clot are disclosed. The apparatus comprises an expandable wire frame for deployment using a push wire within a microcatheter. When deployed in the vicinity of a blood clot, the wire frame is configured to expand and trap the blood clot allowing the blood clot to be removed. The expandable wire frame is connected to the push wire at distal and proximal ends. One or more expansion stops define a minimum distance between the distal and proximal ends of the expandable wire frame and a point of maximum extension of the expandable wire frame. This may help the user to control the configuration of the apparatus as it is being used within the vascular system.

  • Publication number: 20200267240
Abstract: A client device is tracked over a period of time using “refresh tokens” that are exchanged in conjunction with routine client-server communications. Each communication cycle between client and server includes a refresh token that is recorded at the server. The recorded refresh tokens are mapped to both server- and client-generated device identifiers. As communications between client and server occur, a chain of tokens, one for each communication cycle, is progressively recorded at the server. If the server receives a token that is outdated with respect to that which is otherwise expected based on the progression of the recorded chain, this suggests that the received communication was transmitted from a device that is a clone of another client device. A more robust device identification framework is therefore achieved by using a combination of device identifiers and tokens exchanged between client and server.

  • Patent number: 10682493
Abstract: A device and its method of use eliminates or reduces the gap between a catheter and guide wire that can otherwise contribute to a catheter getting stuck within the vasculature. The device is maintained at or near the distal end of the catheter while being advanced through the vessels of a patient. The reduced gap size prevents the catheter from otherwise “catching” on various structures of a vessel, such as a bifurcation.
