Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for managing contact information in a universal plug and play (UPnP) home network environment. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a method of a telephony server (TS) for providing contact information to a telephony control point (TelCP) in a universal plug and play home network environment. The method includes receiving a request for providing contact information updates associated with at least one contact entry from the TelCP connected to the TS in an UPnP home network environment. The method further includes obtaining the requested contact information updates from an address book associated with the at least one contact entry. The method also includes providing the obtained contact information updates associated with the at least one contact entry to the TelCP.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of managing a connection with a device for a wireless communication-based Wireless universal Serial Bus (WSB) service in a host, including controlling to create an initial channel to connect to a target device for a WSB service, considering a device class of the target device, and configured to create a new channel to substitute for the initial channel considering a particular service, at a user's request, to provide the particular service through association with the target device.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for connecting a service, according to a user's intention are provided. The method includes determining at least one file to be transmitted through a Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) Direct connection, selecting, by device discovery, a peer terminal to receive the at least one file, transmitting, to the peer terminal, a first frame including file attribute information about the at least one file, before the Wi-Fi Direct connection is established with the peer terminal, and receiving, from the peer terminal, a second frame, including information indicating whether the Wi-Fi Direct connection to the peer terminal is accepted or rejected.

The method includes receiving an intent by an intermediate device from a seeker device when the seeker device is connected to the intermediate device, wherein the intent comprises a service intent and an identifier of the seeker device and initiating the connection by sending a connection request to a target device by the intermediate device, wherein the connection request comprises the identifier of the seeker device and at least one parameter.

Abstract: A method for establishing a service session in a wireless peer-to-peer (P2P) network is provided. The method includes sending an intent from a seeker device to an advertiser device during a Near Field Communication (NFC) data exchange between the seeker device and the advertiser device, wherein the intent corresponds to at least one service and at least one parameter and establishing the service session between the seeker device and the advertiser device when the at least one service is supported by the advertiser device.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for providing an incoming event notification to a telephony control point in a UPnP home network environment. Information associated with a remote party is fetched by a telephony server, when an incoming event associated with the remote party arrives at the telephony server. An incoming event notification associated with the incoming event is generated. The incoming event notification includes the information associated with the remote party. The incoming event with the incoming event notification is forwarded to at least one telephony control point in the UPnP home network environment. The information associated with the remote party is displayed with the incoming event notification on a display of the at least one telephony control point, when the incoming event arrives at the telephony control point.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a managing at least one network address book of a user at a TS in a UPnP home network. A request to update a contact entry is received from a TCP that is coupled to the TS in the UPnP home network. The request includes contact information associated with at least one entity of the contact entry, and an identifier of a source of the contact entry. It is determined whether the identifier in the request is associated with any of one or more network address books in one or more WAN servers coupled to the TS via a WAN. When the identifier is associated with at least one of the one or more network address books, the contact entry in the at least one network address book is updated based on the contact information. When the identifier is not associated with any of the one or more network address books, the contact entry in a local address book in the TS is updated based on the contact information.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for managing telephony services in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) home network environment. In one embodiment, a method includes creating one or more profiles associated with at least one Telephony Control Point (TelCP) in an UPnP home network environment, each of the one or more profiles includes one or more service settings associated with telephony services. The method also includes storing the one or more profiles associated with the at least one TelCP in a service settings database. Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for sharing device capabilities of Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) devices with a service provider entity. Device capabilities of one or more UPnP devices in a UPnP home network environment are obtained. The device capabilities are aggregated. The aggregated device capabilities are mapped in a user agent profile. The user agent profile including the device capabilities is communicated to the service provider entity so that the service provider entity delivers telephony services to the one or more UPnP devices according to respective device capabilities.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method a system for managing one or more voice mails in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) network. In one embodiment, a method includes providing a notification indicating receipt of one or more voice mails to one or more Telephony Control Points (TelCPs) through a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) home network and providing one or more voice mails to the one or more TelCPs. The method further includes providing a list of one or more voice mails to the one or more TelCPs. The method also includes deleting one or more voice mails from a telephony server (TS). Furthermore, the method includes composing one or more voice mail containing emotional symbols and depositing the one or more voice mails in a voice mail server. Moreover, the method includes recalling one or more voice mails deposited in the voice mail server.
