Abstract: A method and an apparatus for connecting a service, according to a user's intention are provided. The method includes determining at least one file to be transmitted through a Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) Direct connection, selecting, by device discovery, a peer terminal to receive the at least one file, transmitting, to the peer terminal, a first frame including file attribute information about the at least one file, before the Wi-Fi Direct connection is established with the peer terminal, and receiving, from the peer terminal, a second frame, including information indicating whether the Wi-Fi Direct connection to the peer terminal is accepted or rejected.

Abstract: A method in which a first device forms a peer to peer (P2P) group with a second device is provided. The method includes sending an invitation request to the second device; and performing a negotiation process to form the P2P group with the second device if an invitation response to the invitation request is received from the second device. The invitation response includes device information identifying the second device. The negotiation process is performed using the device information.

Abstract: A topology handling method for supporting a first device to form a Peer to Peer (P2P) group with a second device in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes sending, by the first device, an invitation request to the second device; and upon receiving a wait message from the second device in response to the invitation request, performing a negotiation procedure for forming the P2P group with the second device, based on status information included in the wait message. The status information is used to indicate whether the second device can use other services.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for managing contact information in a universal plug and play (UPnP) home network environment. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a method of a telephony server (TS) for providing contact information to a telephony control point (TelCP) in a universal plug and play home network environment. The method includes receiving a request for providing contact information updates associated with at least one contact entry from the TelCP connected to the TS in an UPnP home network environment. The method further includes obtaining the requested contact information updates from an address book associated with the at least one contact entry. The method also includes providing the obtained contact information updates associated with the at least one contact entry to the TelCP.

Abstract: A method and system for providing calendar services in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) home network environment is provided. The method includes creating a calendar event in a UPnP calendar when a request for creating the calendar event is received by the TS from one of Telephony Control Points (TelCPs) in the UPnP home network environment; determining whether the created calendar event meets predetermined conditions; and triggering a notification, indicating that the calendar event meets the predetermined conditions, to the TelCPs in the UPnP home network environment when the calendar event meets the predetermined conditions.

Abstract: A method and system for transferring a file from a home network to Wide Area Network (WAN) user device using the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) telephony service are provided. A request is received from a Telephony Control Point (TCP) to start a file transfer session. The request can include information associated with the file. The file transfer session is established using a messaging service based on the request and file information received in the request from the TCP. The file is fetched from the TCP and stored in the TS. An invite is sent to the WAN user device for initiating the file transfer session from the home network to the WAN user device. The file is transferred to the WAN user device when an acknowledgment of the invite is received from the WAN user device.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for providing an incoming event notification to a telephony control point in a UPnP home network environment. Information associated with a remote party is fetched by a telephony server, when an incoming event associated with the remote party arrives at the telephony server. An incoming event notification associated with the incoming event is generated. The incoming event notification includes the information associated with the remote party. The incoming event with the incoming event notification is forwarded to at least one telephony control point in the UPnP home network environment. The information associated with the remote party is displayed with the incoming event notification on a display of the at least one telephony control point, when the incoming event arrives at the telephony control point.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for transmitting reminders for deferred message, the method includes requesting, by client, to set reminders for deferred messages to a application sever (AS); setting, by the application sever, reminders comprising information of when to remind, whether to repeat reminder or not, and/or how many times to repeat; monitoring, by the application sever, time of the set reminders in order to notify the Client; and notifying, by the application sever, the reminders to the client once a timer triggers to send a notification.

Abstract: A system and method of managing read and delivery reports for messages is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for generating a read report using an IMAP includes processing a message received from a first converged internet protocol messaging (CPM) client device, storing the processed message into a message storage server using an internet message access protocol (IMAP) protocol, generating a read report by the second CPM client device in response to displaying the processed message stored in the message storage server, and delivering the read report to the first CPM client device by a CPM participating/controlling function server. The method also includes blocking redundant delivery reports generated upon retrieval of the message.

Abstract: A system and method of conference messaging between Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) telephony devices and Wide Area Network (WAN) devices is where a conference messaging session with WAN devices is initiated by at least one Telephony Control Point (TCP) via a session request which includes session information, media capabilities of at least one TCP, a list of WAN devices, and a subject of the conference messaging session. The conference messaging session is then established between the at least one TCP and the WAN devices by a Telephony Server (TS) in an UPnP telephony based home network based on the session request.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a managing at least one network address book of a user at a TS in a UPnP home network. A request to update a contact entry is received from a TCP that is coupled to the TS in the UPnP home network. The request includes contact information associated with at least one entity of the contact entry, and an identifier of a source of the contact entry. It is determined whether the identifier in the request is associated with any of one or more network address books in one or more WAN servers coupled to the TS via a WAN. When the identifier is associated with at least one of the one or more network address books, the contact entry in the at least one network address book is updated based on the contact information.

Abstract: A method and system for managing communication session establishment is provided. The method includes receiving a request from a first communication device to establish communication session with one or more communication devices. The method then receives a plurality of media type parameters associated with communication session establishment based on Session Description Protocol (SDP). The method further sends the plurality of media type parameters to the one or more communication devices. Further, the method receives media capabilities information of each communication device based on SDP. The media capabilities information includes at least one of information associated with types of media each communication device is capable of receiving and information about types of media each communication device is incapable of receiving.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus are provided for storing session information in a home network of an UPnP telephony service. The method is performed at a Telephony Server (TS). The method receives a request from a Telephony Control Point (TCP) to store session information while the session is in progress. The session information includes a session status and session related media. The method then divides the session information into meta information and session control information. Thereafter, the method stores the session information in a memory of the TS.

The session request includes session information, media capabilities of a telephony client device (TC) associated with the at least one TCP, a list of WAN devices or a conference group identifier associated with one or more WAN devices, and a subject of the multi-media conferencing session. The method further includes establishing the multi-media conferencing session between the TC and the WAN devices by a telephony server (TS) in the UPnP telephony based home network based on the session request.

Abstract: Disclosed is a new system and method for the “Content-level Reactive Presence Authorization”, wherein the Presentity would be able to reactively authorize the Watcher requested contents of the Presentity's Presence Information. According to the system and method for the Content-level Reactive Presence Authorization, it is possible for the Presence Server to convey the identity of the Watchers and the protected contents to the Presentity on the states of the Watcher's requested contents of the Presence Information. According to the systems and methods, it is also possible for Presentity to specify the conditions when the Presence Server triggers such Content-level Reactive Presence Authorization.

Abstract: Provided is a system and method for optimizing the presence notifications. The system includes a presence server which stores the presence subscription and presence information; and a presence XDMS for storing the authorization related information, wherein the presence server store the filtering rule pertaining to presence based notification delivery. The method includes: storing the presence subscription and presence information by a presence server; and storing the authorization related information by a presence XDMS, wherein a filtering rule pertaining to presence based notification delivery is used with the presence server.

Abstract: A method and system for storing of CPM messages in a communication network. The method includes receiving a CPM message that is to be delivered to a CPM client, identifying a user preference, sending the CPM message to the CPM client through a SIP channel, converting the CPM message into an IMAP, storing the IMAP message in the message storage server, receiving a UID associated with the IMAP message stored in the message storage server, and sending information associated with the CPM message and the UID to the CPM client.
