  • Patent number: 7188659
Abstract: A window shade arrangement for motor vehicles that includes plastic injection molded guide rails designed such that they may be formed with injection tools that do not require moveable cores for forming guide grooves therein. In one embodiment, the guide rail includes an outer part (41) formed with a guide groove and a support part (42) made from less deformable material than the outer part for preventing widening of and deforming of the guide groove during usage. In another embodiment, the first and second molded parts are interconnectable to define the guide groove.

  • Publication number: 20070000625
Abstract: A roller blind for motor vehicles in which pulling out movement of the sheet like window shade is effected by means of motor powered thrust elements. In order to limit the movement of the thrust element in an end position if the driving motor remains switched on, an end stop element seated on at least one of the thrust elements comes into contact with a stationary end stop and blocks additional movement.

  • Publication number: 20070000624
Abstract: A window roller blind assembly for motor vehicles which includes a roller blind that can be drawn from a wind-up shaft by a motor driven driving element engageable with a pull rod of the roller blind. To prevent pinching as a result of the pull rod engaging an obstacle during operation of the roller blind assembly, an electrical system is provided for monitoring operation of the roller blind motor. The system is operable for switching off current to the motor when a preset value is exceed, which is interpreted as a signal that pinching or squeezing of an obstacle is occurring.

  • Publication number: 20060237152
Abstract: A window roller blind assembly for motor vehicles which includes a roller blind that can be drawn from a wind-up shaft by a motor driven driving element engageable with a pull rod of the roller blind. The pull rod, which is guided for movement in guide rails, has a braking device that causes at least part of the driving force necessary for moving the window shade to be fed into the guide rail to brake further movement of the roller blind when the pull rod bumps into an obstacle.

  • Publication number: 20060219372
Abstract: A side window roll-up shade for a passenger car has bearing arrangement on both ends. One of the two bearing arrangements is provided with a threaded stem that extends over only a short distance of the wind-up shaft and which is anchored either in the wind-up shaft or the car body. Therefore, the assembly is limited to those parts responsible for axial movement on the associated wind-up shaft end.

  • Patent number: 7089992
Abstract: A window shade assembly for motor vehicles which has a pivotable cover provided on the slot through which the window shade is extendable and retractable. The cover is prestressed into an open position by an opening spring for enabling extraction of the window shade. The cover is closed by excess travel of a window shade actuating element that serves for moving a tension rod of the window shade to the extracted position.

  • Publication number: 20060021721
Abstract: A window shade particularly adapted for use with curved windows of motor vehicles. The window shade comprises a curved winding shaft that includes a tubular axle, a plurality of axially connected shaft sections mounted on the axle for relative rotational movement, and a winding spring supported within the axle having one end fixed to the axle and the other end secured to a shaft section. In this way, assembly of the window shade is facilitated and the spring is supported within the axle without rattling noises.

  • Publication number: 20050263257
Abstract: A window shade for motor vehicles is provided that includes a rotatably supported winding shaft with one edge of a shade element fixed thereon. The other edge of the shade element is captured on an extraction rod, the ends of which are guided in guide rails. The distance between the guide rails changes significantly in the moving direction of the shade element, and therefore the length of the extraction rod can be telescopically varied. The extraction rod includes a center piece and two end pieces, with a differential gear ensuring that the center piece always remains centered relative to the end pieces. The position of the differential gear is adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the transverse edge of the shade element.

  • Publication number: 20050257903
Abstract: A window shade arrangement for a motor vehicle is provided that contains a housing in which a winding shaft is rotatably supported. A strip shaped shade element is fixed on the winding shaft. The cover of the window shade housing is formed by a spring housing. A coil spring for tensioning the winding shaft in the wind up direction of the strip shaped shade is seated in the spring housing. The spring housing, the spring seated therein and a coupling shaft form a preassembled unit.

  • Patent number: 6918623
Abstract: A protective device for a motor vehicle comprising a flat sheet which is movably supported between a compactly rolled-up rest position and a pulled-out deployed position, which flat sheet is supported over its pull-out path in guideways in the sides of the vehicle. A drive system is associated with the flat sheet on each side thereof. The two drive systems are connected to one another through a mechanical synchronization gearing assembly.

  • Patent number: 6848493
Abstract: A window shade for motor vehicles has a pull rod arrangement which, by means of actuating elements running through the guide rails, is moved in a positive manner away from the winding shaft as toward it. To this end, a positively acting coupling is provided between the pull rod arrangement and the respective actuating element.
