    Abstract: Narrow-band interference in spread spectrum systems is eliminated by performing a frequency spectrum transform on N sampling points of the data to obtain N points of data; after M transforms, getting an energy accumulation of individual data to obtain N energy values; removing partial excessive large values from the N energy values, averaging the rest, then calculating the threshold value for interference determination based on the average value; identifying all points that have energy values exceeding the threshold value, and performing interference suppression for the data of corresponding points after frequency spectrum transform and finally outputting the data after frequency spectrum inverse transform.

    Abstract: Described is a WLAN/BT system with improved compatibility. It employs an adaptive algorithm that dynamically optimizes the WLAN data fragmentation size based on the current WLAN data rates such that the fragmented data packets fit the time slots allowed by the BT SCO stream gaps. The algorithm first uses system level information to acquire the concurrent BT traffic types to decide if TDM method needs to be enabled. Then it uses the smoothed WLAN date rate to calculate maximum fragmentation packet size consistent with current overall WLAN traffic.

The package contains means for isolating RF signals from digital signals. Solder bumps are used for attachment in an arrangement resembling a BGA. For high density packages, at least the digital MCM comprises stacked IC chips. In the embodiment with the RF MCM substrate on the top of the stack, Passive Through Interconnections (PTIs) are made through the digital MCM substrate, and electrically isolated therefrom. The passive through interconnections are made through the solder bumps between boards and interconnected using a passive (with respect to the digital MCM board) through hole. Both the RF ground and the RF input can be isolated using PTIs. For additional isolation, the solder bumps comprising the PTIs are shielded with a Faraday cage.
