  • Patent number: 10448405
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for mitigating resource conflicts between ultra low latency (ULL) and legacy transmissions. A base station may determine a region of a subframe having overlapping resource allocations for a first device of a first type (e.g., ULL device) and a second device of a second type (e.g., legacy device), wherein the first device of the first type has a capability to perform certain procedures with low latency relative to the second device of the second type that lacks the capability. The base station may modulate data from the region of the subframe for transmission to the first and the second devices, using a hierarchical modulation scheme.

  • Patent number: 10448236
Abstract: Base stations (such as small cells) may support active and dormant states. To facilitate state transitions, these cells may transmit discovery signals. The transmission design of both discovery signals and network synchronization signals from small cells should provide for regular periodicity, while supporting the benefit of transitioning between active and dormant states. Disclosed is a method, a computer program product, and an apparatus that determine a first reference signal for at least one of discovery or measurement, and a second reference signal for synchronization, where both the first reference signal and the second reference signal are based on a same type of reference signal.

  • Patent number: 10443821
Abstract: A modular illumination assembly provides at least one elongated light emitting diode lamp that joins other light emitting diode lamps in parallel series, through connecting junction boxes. The lamp comprises a shield that at least partially covers the lamp to directionally guide the emanated light in a desired direction. A pair of lamp holders provide circuitry and a switch for operation of the lamp. The lamp holders also comprise an adjustable retention member to fasten the termini of the lamp to restrict lateral slippage by the lamp. The lamp holders also comprise an anchor to receive a cable for hanging the light emitting diode lamp. The junction box forms an elongated ridge, and the lamp holder forms an elongated slot. The ridge and the slot slidably engage to enable detachable attachment between the junction box and the lamp holder, so as to connect multiple lamps in a parallel arrangement.

  • Patent number: 10440085
Abstract: An online system more efficiently streams multimedia content over the Internet for play back on client devices with varying computing power and network bandwidths by generating enhanced manifest files that more efficiently identify suitable media representations of the multimedia content. Each media representation has multiple media segments according to predefined byte ranges and a manifest file, which identifies location of the media file, bitrates, resolution, byte range, total duration, and other metadata. The online system customizes a manifest file for a user based on various factors including device capacity, network connectivity type and geolocation of the user. The online system also generates manifest fetch commands, which more efficiently fetch media segments for streaming. In response to changes of streaming server and media file (e.g., increased popularity), the online system dynamically updates corresponding manifest files.

  • Patent number: 10429483
Abstract: The sensor interface IC measures or calibrates a target resistance to be used as a gain resistor for a TIA amplifier in the sensor interface IC. One or more excitation currents are generated in response to different specified excitation voltages that are applied to an external calibration resistor having a specified calibration resistance value. Response voltages are measured across the target resistor, respectively in response to the corresponding different one or more excitation currents. The resistance value of the target resistor is determined using a difference between the measured response voltages, a difference between the specified excitation voltages, and the specified calibration resistance value.

  • Patent number: 10430423
Abstract: A system and method for translating and matching attributes in data records that describe travel items is provided. In an embodiment, a plurality of records is received from a plurality of data sources. Record parsing logic is used divide strings in the records into individual words and match single words in the plurality of records to attributes. Using the matched attributes, record comparison logic creates a confidence score that describes the likelihood that two records describe the same listing or inventory item. If the confidence score exceeds a given threshold, the records are determined to match. A consolidated record is then created from the two matched records.
