  • Patent number: 8336200
Abstract: A method for maintaining orientation of a part during manufacturing includes feeding a carrier a supply apparatus. The carrier includes a flexible material and supports a plurality of manufactured parts and includes indexing parts and the supply apparatus stores the carrier. The method includes feeding the carrier into a part forming module to form a manufactured part, forming a plurality of manufactured parts onto the carrier and determining a position of the carrier by sensing the indexing marks. The carrier includes a plurality of parts formed onto the carrier and each manufactured part is connected to the carrier with connectors that hold the part from the carrier. The width of the connector less than or equal to the connector at a connection point to the carrier. Each part maintains orientation with respect to the carrier where the part is formed and maintains orientation during a subsequent operation.

  • Publication number: 20120191796
Abstract: A single content region in a chat history display is used to display entries representative of a plurality of messages corresponding to all chat histories for all of chat threads currently engaged in by a given mobile terminal. Additionally, a buddy list display supports management of chat buddies, a detail view display allows otherwise truncated messages to be displayed, and a text message editor display supports the composition of text messages. Each chat user may designate public display identifiers for purposes of identification to other chat users. Additionally, each user may designate private display identifiers for each of his/her buddies, which private display identifiers may be used to replace the public display identifiers for that user's buddies when displayed on the user's mobile terminal. In this manner, the use of speech and text based group chatting and similar services in wireless communication environments is more readily enabled.

  • Publication number: 20120013727
Abstract: A system for characterizing cells takes a series of digital images of a sample containing the cells. Each of the images is taken at a different plane of focus. One of the images is determined to have been taken at a plane of best focus. The system analyzes the digital image taken at the plane of best focus and at least one other of the digital images to classify cells in the sample as either live or dead.

  • Patent number: 8055450
Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method includes determining an amount of energy needed to change a first sample temperature of a first sample to a target temperature when a temperature changing element that changes the sample temperature is at the target temperature. Data associated with the amount of energy needed to change the sample temperature of the sample to the target temperature is then stored. The stored data may thereafter be used to quickly change a second sample temperature of a second sample to the target temperature, without having the second sample temperature exceed the target temperature.

  • Publication number: 20110147505
Abstract: A device, and method for use of the device, is disclosed that optimizes the proper preparation of fresh herbs for culinary or other uses. The device incorporates both a unique shredding means and storage of the herbs in one device. It is important in the preparation of fresh herbs that there is an absence of grinding or pulverizing due to the release of essential aromatic oils onto the surfaces of the grinder. Fresh herbs need to be shredded or torn. This device also defoliates the herb leaves from the stems.

  • Publication number: 20110040895
Abstract: The communications method for synchronization of service event related communications at an event management platform, may include receiving a notification transmitted from a service event source including event information related to at least one service offered by the service event source and for a mobile wireless device associated with a given service user, and including a synchronization value associated with a service instance. The method may further include storing the synchronization value, and receiving a subsequent notification transmitted from the service event source including a subsequent synchronization value associated with the service instance. The subsequent synchronization value is compared with the stored synchronization value and based thereon a request is generated and sent to the service event source for event information associated with notifications having synchronization values between the subsequent synchronization value with the stored synchronization value.
