Corrugated paperboard packaging comprising a fluted paperboard medium having in selected areas a reinforcing liner, wherein said reinforcing liner has an adhesive surface which when heat activated adheres to the medium surface. The resulting structure has high strength and tear resistance in designated areas.

Abstract: A mixing spray device adapted to mix an added material with source water supplied from a hose. The mixing spray device comprises a main body and a container that may be detachably attached to the main body. The mixing spray device may be configured to operate in an off configuration in which nothing is dispensed, a water configuration in which only water is dispense, and a mixture configuration in which both water and the added material are dispensed. The mixing spray device may also comprise an attachment assembly that is rotatably connected to a handle portion. The container is detachably attached to the attachment assembly and thus may rotate relative to the handle portion. The container may be provided with a container member, an interface member, and a restriction member. The container may be attached to the main body using a flange on the container and a latch structure on the main body.

Abstract: In a cassette for dispensing flexible tubing a cassette body includes a central tubular portion defining an aperture extending therethrough. An outer wall surrounds the central tubular portion and a cassette bottom extends between and connects the outer wall and the central tubular portion. The outer wall, the cassette bottom and the central tubular portion cooperate to define an interior area that surrounds the central tubular portion. A length of flexible tubing is positioned in the interior area. The cassette bottom includes first registration features and a cover is coupled to the body and at least partially overlies the interior area, the cover defining second registration features matingly engageable with the first registration features so that cassettes can be stacked one-on-top-of-the-other with the cooperation of the first and second registration features preventing successively stacked cassettes from shifting relative to one another.

Abstract: A distributed features system is disclosed which permits a telecommunication network to accommodate the creation of open multimedia services. It is an object of the present invention to create an architecture that facilitates modularity and compositional service creation. It is another object of the present invention to support multimedia services, e.g. services that include voice, graphics, video and text components. It is another object of the present invention to provide an architecture that is general, flexible, permits third party feature development, and can interact with other networks.

Abstract: A prosthetic spinal implant having a deployable securing mechanism that is deployable into a portion of the vertebral space for affixing the implant between the vertebrae, the securing mechanism having tactile feedback means comprising a surface for transmitting tactile feedback during deployment of the securing mechanism. A spinal implant having deployable securing means that interface with the implant to prevent the deployable securing means from retracting after deployment. An implant that utilizes its resilient properties to provide the user with tactile feedback with which the user may ascertain the position of the securing mechanism. A system and tools for sizing and implanting implants with the aforementioned characteristics.

Abstract: A laminated automobile side glass includes an insert for engaging the window opening mechanism. The insert is molded for integration into the lamination layers, with a mechanism interface section, having a maximum thickness equal to the overall thickness of the glass. This mechanism interface section is arranged in a cutout of the window, so that the window presents a substantially continuous sheet without protrusions. The insert is formed to constitute substantially the entire engagement of the window with the opening mechanism, and to absorb the stresses imposed by vibration, opening and closing of the window, and the slamming of the automobile door.

Abstract: The computer implemented shopping system provides a hypermedia presentation on a user's computing device, e.g., a game console, that has a plurality of objects representing a merchant's items for sale. The system includes a shopper profile stored in a database. The shopper profile represents shopper pertinent information by measuring attributes of personality and demography. A target profile is stored in a database that denotes potential desirability of a given shopping object to a shopper. A hypermedia store may present interactive challenges to a shopper to evoke information about the shopper to build the shopper profile. The hypermedia store presents shopping objects available for purchase that are selected based on the target profile and the shopper profile. The hypermedia store also may complete a transaction in which the user may purchase real-world products or services presented on the user's computing device during the hypermedia presentation.

Abstract: A non-invasive tool for skin disease diagnosis would be a useful clinical adjunct. The purpose of this study was to determine whether visible/near-infrared spectroscopy can be used to non-invasively characterize skin diseases. In-vivo visible- and near-infrared spectra (400-2500 nm) of skin neoplasms (actinic keratoses, basal cell carcinomata, banal common acquired melanocytic nevi, dysplastic melanocytic nevi, actinic lentigines and seborrheic keratoses) were collected by placing a fiber optic probe on the skin. Paired t-tests, repeated measures analysis of variance and linear discriminant analysis were used to determine whether significant spectral differences existed and whether spectra could be classified according to lesion type. Paired t-tests showed significant differences (p<0.05) between normal skin and skin lesions in several areas of the visible/near-infrared spectrum. In addition, significant differences were found between the lesion groups by analysis of variance.

Abstract: Eyewear includes a left temple and a right temple. Each of the temples has a cavity sized to receive an audio device such as a BlueTooth transceiver configured to communicate wirelessly with a remote device like a cell phone or a digital sound device. The BlueTooth transceiver may be placed in the cavity of either temple with the other temple cavity covered with a cover plate. An earphone may be connected to the BlueTooth transceiver through a receptacle. The earphone delivers the audible sound to the user's ear. The receptacle of the BlueTooth transceiver to which the earphone connects is also configured to receive the connector from a charger to charge a rechargeable battery in the BlueTooth transceiver. The eyewear may also be configured with cover plates over the cavity in both of the temples or with an audio device in both cavities to provide audible signals to both ears of the user.

Abstract: The present I/O ports comprise (1) a layered structure comprising (a) an unpatterned superstrate having at least one layer, (b) an unpatterned substrate having at least one layer, and (c) at least one intermediate layer sandwiched between the unpatterned superstrate and the unpatterned substrate, (2) a coupling region that is within the at least one intermediate layer and that comprises an arrangement of at least one optical scattering element and (3) at least one output waveguide. The present I/O ports can be effectively used in balanced photonic circuits and unbalanced photonic circuits.

Abstract: A seal assembly is provided for a side-by-side or French style door on a refrigerator in which the sealing gasket is supported on a gasket carrier and pivotably coupled to a base member adapted to be secured along the medial vertical edge of a refrigerator door. A set of magnets are supported by the gasket carrier opposite the gasket. These magnets are arranged such that similar poles are adjacent one another when the doors are in the closed position. The magnets provide a repelling force which operates to rotate the gaskets into sealing engagement with one another.

Alternatively, the present invention provides a composition comprising an adduct which is the reaction product of one or more than one isotactic, modified polypropylene (MPP) or isotactic, modified polypropylene-?-olefin copolymer (MPP copolymer) with one or more than one carboxyl, anhydride, epoxy or hydroxyl functional reactant, polymer or resin.
