  • Patent number: 9959385
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for securely messaging healthcare entities. In one scenario, a computer system receives an input from a user indicating that a message including text or other characters is to be securely transmitted to a specified healthcare entity. The message is part of a conversation between a user and the specified healthcare entity. The computer system encrypts the characters of the message using at least one encryption algorithm, so that the message is encrypted during the transfer from the user to the specified healthcare entity. The computer system then initiates transmission of the encrypted message such that the encrypted message is sent to the specified healthcare entity. Throughout the process, the encrypted message is transferred in accordance with legal regulations governing healthcare communications.

  • Publication number: 20160092866
Abstract: A computer system is provided which determines that a mobile device associated with an identified customer is within a seller's store. The computer system further receives transaction information from a mobile wallet application associated with the customer which includes an indication of items that are to be purchased, an indication of the amount that is to be paid, and an indication that payment is to be made from a stored value account (SVA) associated with the customer. The computer system determines, based on the customer's identity, current location, and the received transaction information, that the customer has approved the transaction, processes the transaction using the customer's SVA, provides a credit to the seller in the amount debited from the customer's SVA and generates an electronic receipt for the customer, notifying the customer that the seller has received the specified amount of money from the customer's SVA.

  • Publication number: 20160005022
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to selecting a debit network using a quick response (QR) code and to processing a payment using a debit network selected according to information embedded in a QR code. In one scenario, a mobile computer system receives input indicating that a user has initiated a payment for various items sold by a provider of goods or services. The mobile computer system determines that the user or the provider has specified a preference indicating which debit network is to be used to process the payment. The mobile computer system then generates a QR code with the debit network selection and portions of the user's debit account information embedded in the QR code, and sends the generated QR code to a payment processing system. The payment processing system may be cloud-based, or may be run locally at the provider's point of sale.

In one scenario, a computer system instantiates a multi-channel communication service that is configured to provide different targeted messages using multiple different communication channels. The computer system further determines that a targeted message is to be provided to a specified user through a first communication channel, and provides the targeted message through the first communication channel. The computer system also determines that the targeted message is to be provided to the specified user through a second, additional communication channel, and provides the targeted message through the second, different communication channel. The messages may include any type of content including text, pictures, videos, links or other content.
