  • Patent number: 11409183
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for controlling the phase shifts produced in a binary corporate tree network of the kind, e.g., that can drive a phased array for steering an optical beam. The method employs a novel phase-wrapping technique in which an entire layer of the binary tree is disabled when the phase added in that layer reaches 2?. With that technique, it is possible to economize on electrical control lines and on the use of electric power, while still maintaining the ability to produce arbitrary phases at the output of the tree network.

  • Patent number: 11226502
Abstract: A high-brightness squeezed light source includes a plurality of light squeezing elements and a photonic summing device. The light squeezing elements each output respective squeezed light responsive to receipt of unsqueezed light. The photonic summing device receives the squeezed light output by each of the light squeezing elements and coherently adds the squeezed light to generate a high-brightness squeezed light output. The high-brightness squeezed light output has a greater brightness than the outputs of the light squeezing elements, and a same degree of squeezing as one or more of the outputs of the light squeezing elements.

  • Publication number: 20220012269
Abstract: The invention provides a comprehensive system, method and computer program product for data structure clustering based on variation in data attribute performance. In general, the invention is configured to link a sub-set of data structures out of a global set of data structures based on identifying stimulus type attributes that are structured to produce a functional performance parameter of the associated data structure, particularly in the field of hospital data analysis. Typically, the invention is configured to receive a request for construction of a peer data cluster for a first functional performance parameter of the first entity data structure. The invention may then determine at least one second entity data structure of a plurality of entity data structures that is a peer entity data structure, and linking the first entity data structure and the second entity data structure to form the peer data cluster.

  • Patent number: 11187676
Abstract: A device for determining the partial pressure or concentration of a vapor in a volume includes a sensor element that can be caused to oscillate and temperature-controlled to a temperature below the condensation temperature of the vapor. The sensor element has an oscillation frequency that is influenced by a mass accumulation formed by condensed vapor on the sensor surface thereof. The rear side of the sensor element pointing away from the sensor surface contacts a thermal transfer surface of a thermal transfer element. The thermal transfer element is formed from an electrically heatable heating element that is connected to a cooling element in a thermally conductive manner by a thermal dissipation surface, which is different from the thermal transfer surface. The thermal transfer surface extends substantially parallel to the thermal dissipation surface.
