  • Patent number: 5209554
Abstract: A slip-controlled brake system, especially for use with automotive vehicles has a brake pressure generator (1) accommodating a master cylinder (2) connected to the brake pressure generator through master brake conduits (62,63) are the wheel brakes (31 to 34), comprising hydraulic auxiliary pressure pumps (21,26) and wheel sensors (S1 to S4) and electronic circuits capable to control, for slip control purposed, electromagnetically actuable pressure fluid inlet valves (24,25,29,30) and pressure fluid outlet valves (22,23,35,36) provided in the pressure fluid conduits, with pressure pulsation attenuators (27) of a defined volume expansion and flow length being provided for noise reduction purposed during the control operation, between the master cylinder (2) and the wheel brakes (31 through 34).

  • Patent number: 5096268
Abstract: Hydraulic brake systems are known wherein, for the purpose of brake control, a counterforce is built up in the booster (60) for actuation of the master brake cylinder which results in unloading the master brake cylinder. What is disadvantageous in the known system is that this counterforce also resets the pedal (pedal piston 3) so that vehement pedal movements will result from the control action. Therefore, our present invention suggests to interpose a transmission device (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) between the pedal and the actuator (booster) enabling to decouple actuator and pedal.

  • Patent number: 4871578
Abstract: A process for the production of a layer of hydroxyapatite (HA) on metallic and non-metallic bodies for implants is disclosed, wherein a layer of .alpha.- or .beta.-tricalcium phosphate (TCP) is applied and this is then completely converted into pure HA by reaction with water at an elevated temperature.

  • Patent number: 4666343
Abstract: A protective device protects a platform installed in the open sea against the impact of floating objects such as icebergs, ice formations, or ships. A massive protective body surrounds the platform to be protected and has a bottom with inclined bearing surfaces. The body is movably supported on large bearings having inclined bearing areas that slidingly engage the bearing surfaces. When the protective body is struck by a floating object the kinetic energy of the impact pushes the protective body upwards on a portion of the inclined bearing areas and is transformed into potential energy of the elevated body. The protective body is able to thrust the floating object away from the platform as the body moves downwardly to its original position as its potential energy is reconverted to kinetic energy.

  • Patent number: 4526582
Abstract: Disclosed are novel N-(hydroxy methyl)-1-amino alkane-1,1-diphosphonic acids and N,N-Bis-(hydroxy-methyl)-1-amino alkane-1,1-diphosphonic acids, preferably N-(hydroxy methyl)-1-amino ethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid, N,N-Bis-(hydroxy methyl)-1-amino ethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid, and their water-soluble salts. Also disclosed is a method for preparing these compounds by reacting the corresponding 1-amino alkane-1,1-diphosphonic acids with formaldehyde in an alkaline medium at elevated temperature. The new phosphonic acid compounds are excellent stabilizing agents for hydrogen peroxide-containing alkaline bleaching liquors, especially useful for bleaching cellulose fibers and blends thereof with synthetic fibers, such as polyester fibers.
