Abstract: A projection display device includes an imaging unit; a planar waveguide with a light decoupling face for a light beam bundle produced by the imaging unit; an at least partially transparent reflection plate arranged in the field of view of a user and configured to reflect a light beam bundle decoupled from the waveguide to an eyebox predetermined for the user's eyes; an eye-tracking device configured to determine an eyebox window which is currently occupied by the user's eyes; and a dynamic scattered light absorber, which, to shadow the light decoupling face in a surface portion which is dynamically adjustable depending on a signal of the eye-tracking device and which extends starting from at least one of the edges of the light decoupling surface, is configured to at least partially limit the decoupled light beam bundle to the current eyebox window.

The system includes a first weather seal retaining structure structured to be positioned between a second weather seal retaining structure extending at least partially along a first side of the sunroof assembly and a third weather seal retaining structure extending at least partially along a second side of the sunroof assembly adjacent the first side. In particular arrangements, another weather seal retaining structure may be positioned to extend between the second weather seal retaining structure and the third weather seal retaining structure, adjacent the first weather seal retaining structure. In combination, the weather seal retaining structures operate to effectively retain the weather seal along a transition portion of the sunroof assembly.

Abstract: A radar-compatible external display device for a vehicle includes a display element for producing a light display external to the vehicle. The display element is disposed in the beam path of a radar system of the vehicle. Each pixel of the display element includes a transparent diffuser assembly and an electrically controllable light source or a deflecting element. Linear dimensions of the display light sources/deflecting elements are several times smaller than a predefined radar wavelength used in the radar system, while distances between adjacent light sources/deflecting elements are greater than said radar wavelength. As a result, radar radiation of the radar system of the vehicle propagates through the display element undisturbed.

The structure includes a rear housing structured to be operably connectible to a vehicle roof and including a cable-receiving groove formed along an underside thereof and structured to receive a portion of a cable therein. The structure also includes a cable securement bracket including a cable-receiving groove structured to receive another portion of the cable therein, the bracket being structured to be securable to the rear housing underside so that the bracket groove is positioned opposite the rear housing groove so as to define a passage between the rear housing and the bracket.

The damper assembly extends longitudinally from a damper head to an end of the piston rod. A handle side mount and a mounting bracket may be provided to secure the damper assembly to a first and second portion of the door handle. The handle side mount has a first housing bracket pivotally coupled to the end of the piston rod, and a second housing bracket arranged to pivotally couple to the first portion of the door handle. The mounting bracket is defined by an first opening arranged to receive the damper head, and a second opening arranged to receive the second portion of the door handle.

Abstract: A system including mold pieces coupled together with breakaway bolts or other fasteners for facilitating the fabrication of composite parts for, e.g., aerospace vehicles. First and second mold pieces are coupled together to form a mold within which the composite part is fabricated from a composite material. A coefficient of thermal expansion of the mold pieces is higher than a coefficient of thermal expansion of the composite part. One or more breakaway fasteners couple together the mold pieces while the mold pieces and the composite material are heated, and then purposefully break and thereby decouple the mold pieces and release the composite part when the mold pieces are cooled. The fasteners may be constructed from polytetrafluoroethylene, may include a structural weakness to ensure breakage, may break into two or more pieces when under a tension or a sheering force, or may include threads that sheer when under a tension force.
