  • Patent number: 10052482
Abstract: The present invention is an improved spatial fitting and training system for a visual prosthesis. The system of the present invention maps projected locations of percepts, where a person perceives a percept from a visual prosthesis to the intended location of the percepts. The projected location may vary over time. These test results can be used to correct a visual prosthesis or spatially map the visual prosthesis.

  • Patent number: 9935977
Abstract: Techniques are described for delivering one or more first resources of a page using a first security level, and delivering one or more second resources of a page using a second, different security level. A page is generated to include elements identifying resources to be presented in the page, and the elements may include security level identifiers indicating a security level to be employed in communicating the corresponding resource. Each security level may be associated with a set of security measures that ensure the integrity or confidentiality of the resource while it is communicated. The use of multiple security levels to communicate multiple resources may provide appropriate security for each resource, reducing latency and overhead in page generation, communication, and rendering.

  • Patent number: 9819626
Abstract: A first component of a network-accessible service is configured to participate in client-server interactions with other components of the service via a default communication channel. The first component has access to an alternate communication channel available only to a subset of components of the service. Using the alternate communication channel, the first component reaches a local workload agreement with a second component, in accordance with which at least some service requests of the first component or the second component are fulfilled using the alternate communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20170083041
Abstract: Presented herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable media for recording event times in particle detection scenarios. The systems, methods, and computer-readable media involve the identification of one facility device as a grandmaster clock among at least two facility devices of a facility device set, where the respective facility devices are selected from a facility device type set including a beam monitor; a neutron instrument; a neutron chopper; a nuclear reactor; a particle accelerator; a network router; and a user workstation. The system, method, and computer-readable medium also involve configuring the facility devices to synchronize a clock component with the grandmaster clock; and, upon detecting an event, retrieve from the clock component of the selected facility device an absolute event timestamp that is independent of event times of other events, and store a record of the facility event and the absolute event timestamp in a data store.

  • Publication number: 20160173280
Abstract: A computing device can obtain a session key for encrypting data that is communicated between a client device and the computing device. The computing device can receive, from the client device, an encrypted request for data. The encrypted request can be encrypted by the client device using the session key. The data requested can be stored on a second computing device. The computing device can send, to the second computing device, a copy of the session key and the encrypted request for data. The second computing device can decrypt the data using the session key and can also encrypt data responsive to the request using the session key.

  • Publication number: 20150041608
Abstract: A seat support for use with a vehicle seat and adapted to engage a track provided on the floor of a vehicle. The track can have two inwardly-directed lips on opposed sides of a slot, the lips providing first alternating protrusions and recesses along the length of the track. The alternating protrusions are spaced apart by a spacing distance and the first and second protrusions define shoulder surfaces on each side thereof. The track defines a bearing surface formed on the inner face of each first protrusion. The seat support also includes an interface portion that has a profile having second alternating protrusions and recesses. The second protrusions are spaced apart by the same spacing distance as the first protrusions. The seat support also has a retaining mechanism that engages with the track and secures the seat support in the desired position. The retaining mechanism can have multiple securing members.

  • Publication number: 20140280910
Abstract: The local network connection system (LNCS) is configured to balance the subscriber network traffic. Load balancing of subscriber traffic can be accomplished by logically assigning each subscriber to one of the available Internet Service Provider (ISP) links. The assignment of subscribers can be based on a rule set that determines which ISP to assign to a subscriber. The rule set can be used to balance the load on the network interfaces, the ISPs, and provide failover options for the LNCS. The system can perform network interface monitoring operations in order to determine if one or more of the network interfaces have ISP connections and are available to transport network traffic over a network, such as the Internet.
