  • Publication number: 20230250398
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing liver cells, especially liver stem cells, which after injection into a mammal or in vitro form liver cells that are differentiated, especially differentiated into hepatocytes, into cholangiocytes, and preferably also into liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSEC) that can e.g. form blood sinusoidal capillaries. The invention is based on in in vitro producing liver stem cells from a sample of liver tissue, cultivating the liver stem cells in vitro for an increase in cell number. It has been found that the liver stem cells that are produced by the process of the invention can be cultivated and increased in number while maintaining their capability to differentiate into liver cells, especially into hepatocytes, cholangiocytes, and preferably also into LSEC. Accordingly, the process of the invention is suitable for producing liver stem cells that are autologous for the originator of the sample of liver tissue.

  • Publication number: 20220313108
Abstract: An implantable array, such as an electrode array, is provided. The array is suitable for being placed in anatomic tissue of a human or animal body, and has a structure for referencing predefined distinct points of the implantable electrode array in magnetic resonance images. A structure is arranged in a predefined portion of the implantable array, where the structure has multiple patterns, each pattern having a predefined form and formed from a material having a magnetic susceptibility which is different from the magnetic susceptibility of the anatomic tissue surrounding the implantable array when placed in the human or animal body. Each pattern is in a predefined spatial relationship with one of the predefined distinct points.

  • Patent number: 11061091
Abstract: A method for the magnetic resonance examination of a measurement object is described, in which a measurement sequence is used in which the magnetic resonance response to the transmitted signal during transmission is measured. It is provided that a correction signal corresponding to the transmitted signal be generated and be used for correction of the response signal. To this end, the correction signal is modulated by a phase value and an amplitude value. The phase value and the amplitude value are automatically and iteratively customized for optimum correction of the response signal by an optimization method using a respective present state value of the measurement signal. Further, a radio-frequency unit (1) is described that can be used to carry out the method according to the invention.

  • Publication number: 20170073919
Abstract: The present invention relates to in-place soil stabilization. Specifically, the present invention relates a method and device for measuring the increase in subsurface earth pressure or soil displacement during the injection of a stabilizing agent into the soil and prior to surface movement. The rise in sensor pressure or displacement of soil indicates an increase in soil strength and bearing capacity. Therefore, real-time monitoring of these pressures or movements may serve as a guide during the injection process.
