  • Publication number: 20080029437
Abstract: A process for the regeneration of materials used in the guard beds preceding the reactors used in an olefin conversion process which converts olefinic refinery streams to higher boiling hydrocarbon products by polymerization (oligomerization) or alkylation of aromatics including benzene. Products of the process may include olefin oligomers and alkylaromatics in the gasoline boiling range as well as alkylaromatic petrochemicals such as cumene and ethylbenzene. The process is integrated with the olefin conversion process to ensure continuous operation of the olefin conversion without sending the feedstock containing the contaminant(s) to the reactor. The process uses reaction products from the olefin conversion process to regenerate the guard bed material and so is economically attractive since it does not require the use of separate purge, regeneration feed and separation systems. A plurality of guard beds is used, each containing a material which removes catalyst poisons.

  • Publication number: 20080005968
Abstract: A shutter assembly (24) mounts to a structure (20) and provides storm and security protection to an opening (22). The assembly comprises an upper track (28) and a lower track (30) each extending between first and second proximal and distal ends (34, 38), respectively. A pair of decorative shutters (26) are spaced from one another and disposed adjacent to the tracks (28, 30). A plurality of panel assemblies (46) are in sliding engagement with the upper and lower tracks (28, 30) for covering the opening (22) and each comprises upper and lower rails (52, 54) and a pair of stiles (56) extending therebetween and a panel (58). The panel (58) defines a retention portion (66) disposed along side edges (64) extending outwardly from a plane (68) of the panel (58). Each of the stiles (56) define a stile channel (72) having a configuration corresponding to the retention portion (66) to create an interference fit between the stile channel (72) and the panel (58) for allowing movement when the panel (58) flexes.

  • Publication number: 20070266839
Abstract: A portable hand tool includes a frame for guiding a sheet of material, e.g., sheet metal. A pair of shafts are spaced from each other and are selectively slideable relative to the frame to define a plurality of adjustment positions. A pair of rollers are respectively mounted to the shafts for deforming the sheet of material between the rollers. An adjustment rod is mounted to and extends outwardly from the frame. A support interconnects the shafts and an adjustment device is rotatably engaged with the support. A coupling device is disposed about the adjustment rod and is moveable between an engaged position and a disengaged position. In the engaged position, the coupling device couples the adjustment rod and the adjustment device to lock the shafts and rollers laterally relative to the frame. In the disengaged position, the shafts and rollers are slideable relative to the frame between the adjustment positions.

  • Patent number: 7117705
Abstract: A cutting assembly (20) is removably supported on a sheet bending brake (24) for cutting a work piece (22). The cutting assembly (20) includes a cutter body (32), and a first (42) and a second cutting disk (48), each having an outer periphery defining a primary (44) and a complimentary cutting edge (50) respectively. The first (42) and second cutting disks (48) are rotatably supported by the cutter body (32) and rotate about a first axis (46) and a second axis (52) respectively. An adjustment mechanism (60) interconnects the second cutting disk (48) and the cutter body (32) for axially adjusting the complimentary cutting edge (50) with respect to the primary cutting edge (44) without having to remove the second cutting disk (48) from the cutter body (32). The cutting assembly (20) includes a locking device (82) for preventing movement of the adjustment mechanism (60) relative to the cutter body (32).

  • Patent number: 7043950
Abstract: The subject invention presents a sheet bending brake assembly and a measuring device for the sheet bending brake assembly. The assembly includes a support. First and second clamping members are mounted on the support for movement between open and closed positions. The clamping members have respective clamping surfaces that extend in a parallel and opposing relationship to each other in the closed position to clamp a sheet of material between the surfaces. The measuring device is for measuring the sheet of material relative to the clamping members. The measuring device includes a base and an elongated arm pivotally connected to the base at a pivot. The elongated arm extends from the pivot to a distal end for pivotal movement about the pivot between a retracted position and an extended measuring position for overlying the sheet of material.

  • Patent number: 6995295
Abstract: A process is described for producing an alkylaromatic compound by reacting an alkylatable aromatic compound with a feed comprising an alkene and an alkane in a multistage reaction system comprising at least first and second series-connected alkylation reaction zones each containing an alkylation catalyst. At least the first alkylation reaction zone is operated under conditions of temperature and pressure effective to cause alkylation of the aromatic compound with the alkene in the presence of the alkylation catalyst, the temperature and pressure being such that the aromatic compound is partly in the vapor phase and partly in the liquid phase. An effluent comprising the alkylaromatic compound, unreacted alkylatable aromatic compound, any unreacted alkene and the alkane is withdrawn from the first alkylation reaction zone and at least part of the alkane is removed from the effluent to produce an alkane-depleted effluent. The alkane-depleted effluent is then supplied to the second alkylation reaction zone.
