Publication number: 20020124621Abstract: The subject invention provides a sheet bending brake assembly for securing a work piece. The sheet bending brake assembly includes a clamping member having a lower leg extending therefrom and a pivoting arm pivotally supported by and extending from the clamping member. The pivoting arm defines a clamping area with the lower leg. A base supports the clamping members and provides support to the assembly while moving the pivoting arm between the open position and the clamped position. A guide mechanism reacts between the clamping member and the pivoting arm for moving the pivoting arm between the open position and the clamped position. The guide mechanism has a guide slot with a detent positioned within the guide slot between the first and the second ends for positioning the pivoting arm in an intermediate position to allow for precisely aligning the work piece.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2002Publication date: September 12, 2002Inventor: Michael C. Patent number: 6421964Abstract: A molding assembly having a hanger member fixedly securable to an inner or outer wall of a building and a decorative molding insert member releasably engageable with the hanger member. The molding insert member is supported at a lower edge portion by a lower J-channel of the hanger member. An upper L-shaped portion of the insert member is supported by a depending lip portion of the hanger member which forms a second channel such that no external fastening elements are required to secure the molding insert member to the hanger member. The insert member can be quickly and easily releasably engaged within the J-channel and the second channel without the need for special tools. In an alternative preferred embodiment the insert member includes a lip portion which is adapted to slidably engage an under surface of an adjacently positioned insert member to provide an even more continuous appearance for adjacently positioned insert members.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1998Date of Patent: July 23, 2002Assignee: Tapco InternationalInventors: Charles E. Patent number: 5907075Abstract: Improved isoparaffin-olefin alkylation solid catalyst processes are provided which are characterized by low coke laydown and catalyst deactivation rates and production of valuable branched chain, high octane number alkylates. The processes of the invention involve providing a starting reactant mixture comprising an isoparaffin, an olefin and a co-solvent or diluent (carbon dioxide in molar excess, methane, hydrogen or mixtures thereof), and contacting the reactant mixture with an alkylation catalyst at near-critical or preferably supercritical conditions for the reaction mixture. The carbon dioxide serves as a co-solvent and reduces the critical temperature (T.sub.c) of the reaction mixture, thereby allowing lower reaction temperatures. The isoparaffin and olefin reactants are preferably pretreated to minimize moisture, peroxide and oxygenate impurities therein.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 1997Date of Patent: May 25, 1999Assignee: The University of KansasInventors: Bala Subramaniam, Michael C.
