  • Publication number: 20090327350
Abstract: A system, computer-implemented method, and a computer program product for defining rental property data associated with one or more rental properties within a review datastore. One or more user-definable rules are applied to the rental property data to generate suspect data. At least a portion of an interactive review form is populated with at least a portion of the suspect data. A user is enabled to provide user input associated with the suspect data via one or more data-entry fields included within the interactive review form. The user input is stored within the review datastore.

  • Patent number: 7636090
Abstract: A hierarchical movie is provided. A hierarchical movie is a movie that contains one or more embedded movies. Embedded movies may themselves contain embedded movies. Each movie contains zero or more media sequences. Within a hierarchical movie, media sequences that should be edited together may be grouped together using embedded movies. The media sequences of a hierarchical movie may be sequenced during playback based on a different time coordinate system than the time coordinate system that governs any embedded movies. This allows a movie to contain both time-based and time-independent media sequences. Also, the relative timing of events in the movie may vary from performance to performance. The hierarchical movie structure allows movies to be used as user interface controls, and even as field-sensitive databases.

  • Publication number: 20080165538
Abstract: A lighting system including various improvements is disclosed. Fixtures can accept lamps of differing variants and types in the same lamp socket without damage and with automatic connection to the appropriate power. Telescoping fixture housings and an optical system in which compound optical arrays produce multiple parallel beams and focal points reduce fixture size. A multi-stage color-mixing system efficiently produces both saturated colors and tints from a simple mechanism comparable in complexity and cost to prior art systems. Such fixtures can be packaged to ship contained entirely within prior art rigid truss, deploying to “use” position with little or no effort. A unified system supplies power and control to such fixtures, both “conventional” and “automated” as well as chain motors using the same power and data multi-cable cable. And both trusses and shipping cases are fabricated from simple structural shapes.

  • Publication number: 20080092068
Abstract: An associated between a data type and a user interface (UI) element such as a Page and/or Panel, and a data type allows dynamic determination of application flow including menu and menu items. This may allow a dynamic determination of all target UI elements to which an end user may navigate from a source UI element, that are capable of displaying the same record of information represented in the source UI element or a related record of information.

  • Publication number: 20080010071
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for processing a set of communicated signals associated with a set of muscles, such as the muscles near the larynx of the person, or any other muscles the person use to achieve a desired response. The method includes the steps of attaching a single integrated sensor, for example, near the throat of the person proximate to the larynx and detecting an electrical signal through the sensor. The method further includes the steps of extracting features from the detected electrical signal and continuously transforming them into speech sounds without the need for further modulation. The method also includes comparing the extracted features to a set of prototype features and selecting a prototype feature of the set of prototype features providing a smallest relative difference.

  • Publication number: 20060193077
Abstract: A servo control circuit provides seamless transition between seek and track modes while enabling both rapid seek mode operation and accurate tracking. The control circuit includes an analog-to-digital converter having a non-linear characteristic. The non-linear characteristic provides disproportionately large control voltages to derive speed and settling in the seek mode and essentially linear control voltages in the track mode to provide low noise and accurate tracking operation.

  • Publication number: 20060193641
Abstract: Improved methods and apparatus for varying one or more parameters of a light beam are disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more light modifying elements are interposed in the light beam between the light source and a subject illuminated, each of said light modifying elements having a pattern of both areas of light modifying material and other areas without such material. An additional element produces a complementary light pattern, such that relative displacement of said additional elements and said at least one light modifying element can vary the proportion of light from said light source that passes through said light modifying material and reaches said subject. One or more of said additional elements may be provided and may increase the efficiency of the disclosed apparatus and/or provide additional functions.

  • Patent number: 6962417
Abstract: The invention relates to a keystone correction system and method. The system includes a projector for projecting an image on a projection surface and a platform to allow a user to vertically rotate the projector before horizontally rotating the projector. The projector corrects for keystone distortion responsive to the projector's vertical and horizontal position. The platform increases the keystone range of the projector. The keystone correction method includes moving a projector in a vertical direction and moving a projector in a horizontal direction after moving the projector in a vertical direction.

  • Publication number: 20050144165
Abstract: A content delivery system for delivering content received from one or more external sources to end users of the system via multiple communication paths. By way of non-limiting example, content such as a voice signal transmitted via a telephone network is received by a first server of the content delivery system. The first server alone or in concert with a second server converts and encodes the voice signal into a streaming format. In response to a request from an end user to receive the content via a selected communication path, the content delivery system converts and decodes the content, if necessary, to transmit the content via the selected communication path. The end user uses a computing device in communication the selected communication path to receive the content.
