Publication number: 20150257353Abstract: The present invention provides a wheat plant comprising an Rht-B1 allele which encodes an Rht-B1 (DELLA) poly-peptide. Grain from a near-isogenic wheat line comprising the dwarfmg Rht-B1c allele was subjected to sodium azide mutagenesis. Plants exhibiting early leaf elongation rates or mature plant height greater than the dwarf parent were selected and the Rht-B1 gene sequenced. This identified 35 mutated alleles of Rht-B1c. Similar methods were also used to identify mutant alleles of the dwarfmg s1n1d allele in barley, where DELLA is encoded by the s1n1 gene.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2013Publication date: September 17, 2015Inventors: Peter Michael Chandler, Carol Anne Harding

Patent number: 6489161Abstract: A perforated enclosure for reception of material to be composted is divided into a plurality of compartments. A trough is capable of being raised and lowered;between a low level filling station and the top of this enclosure, and then travelling across the top of this enclosure to dispense the material to be composted into the compartments. The trough base includes a plurality of side by side rotors having circumferential vanes with radial cross walls whereby the material to be composted is distributed to the compartments. An auger may be mounted below the perforated enclosure between respective guide rails and may travel therealong to extract compost from the base of each compartment. Patent number: 6042854Abstract: Liquid, nutritionally complete formulas are disclosed with improved physical stability. The nutritionally complete formulas are pourable, yet are able to hold minerals, insoluble fiber and flavoring agents such as cocoa powder in suspension without the formation of a sediment that is not readily redispersible. The invention comprises the use of gellan gum at a concentration of between 10-500 parts per million. Although gellan gum alone is sufficient, the nutritionally complete formula may also comprise other stabilizers such as carrageenan and/or carboxymethylcellulose.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1999Date of Patent: March 28, 2000Assignee: Abbott LaboratoriesInventors: Jeffrey G.
