  • Publication number: 20110001355
Abstract: The power sub-assembly (3) for a micro-hybrid system (1) in an automobile includes a AC-DC converter (8) with a transistor bridge (13), an energy storage device (10) and a power bus (9) including at least two substantially symmetrical and parallel conductors (22). The conductors (22) include respective substantially planar surfaces (23, 23?) facing each other. • Publication number: 20100257951
Abstract: A starter device (10) for a combustion engine (1), particularly of a motor vehicle. The device includes a rotary electrical machine (11) comprising a drive member (12) and a tensioner. A belt (13) collaborates with the drive member of the rotary electrical machine and with the combustion engine in order that the latter can be started using the belt rotationally driven by the electrical machine in a first direction (A). A tensioner (15) presses against a length (16) of the belt that runs between the electrical machine and the combustion engine. As the rotary electrical machine rotates in a second direction (B) the opposite of the first, it is possible for the tensioner to be brought from a stopped position into a position for beginning to start the combustion engine. The movement from the stopped position to the position for beginning to start being accompanied by a lengthening of said length of belt and/or by an increase in the tension in this length of belt.

  • Publication number: 20100207568
Abstract: A rotating electrical machine including a first member (10) capable of generating a magnetic field which rotates relative to the first member, and a second member (6) which is provided with a winding through which a current can flow, such that the rotating magnetic field drives the second member in rotation. An electrical value which is at least related to the current is measured (18) and the generation of the rotating magnetic field is started (12) at a time which is determined as a function of the electrical value which is measured. A method of controlling the machine is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100201304
Abstract: A method for controlling a rotary electrical machine and a control and power module for a rotary electrical machine. The rotary electrical machine includes a plurality of phase windings (9), a power circuit (12, 16) which comprises a plurality of arms each formed by a bridge of switches and which is capable of supplying an electrical network at an output voltage (Vres) equal to a nominal voltage when the bridge of switches is in a nominal mode of operation, an excitation winding (11) through which flows an excitation current (I exc) which generates a magnetic flux in a magnetic excitation circuit (10), and an electronic control circuit (7) which operates the power circuit and controls the excitation current. The method includes locking the bridge in at least one arm of the power circuit in a conductive state when the output voltage exceeds a voltage threshold higher than the nominal voltage. The nominal mode of operation of the bridge is returned to independently of the output voltage.

  • Publication number: 20100031911
Abstract: A method and a device for starting a diesel engine with no heater plugs, comprising pistons and cylinders defining combustion chambers into which gases intended to participate in combustion are admitted, in which method a strategy is adopted whereby the gases present in the chambers are heated up in such a way as to raise them to a minimum temperature within the entire volume defined by the chambers when the pistons are in the position of maximum compression or close to that position. The gases are heated by compressing the air in the cylinders using an electrical machine, or using a heating system in the intake.

  • Patent number: 7629776
Abstract: A control and power module for a rotating electrical machine comprising a power circuit containing a number of branches, and a control circuit designed for controlling the power circuit when the machine operates in a nominal mode. The inventive module is characterized in that the control circuit is also designed for monitoring an output voltage from the power circuit and blocking at least one branch of the power circuit in a conduction state when the output voltage reaches an at least first threshold value so that the machine functions in a degraded mode. The invention is for use in an alternator starter.

  • Publication number: 20080312854
Abstract: A method and system for measuring electric current in a plurality (n) of conductors. According to the invention, the method comprises the following steps: an electric current transducer is place substantially opposite to each conductor (I, i=1, . . . , n); a decorrelation matrix ([G]), which is a function of the position of the transducers in relation to the conductors, is constructed; the current (Imesi) in each conductor (i) is measured with the aid of electric current transducers and real currents (Ireeli) are deduced with the aid of the decorrelation matrix ([G]) and the measured currents (Imesi).
