  • Patent number: 9722874
Abstract: Described herein is an inference-based approach to process network route definitions, e.g. routes received from other network devices according to a defined routing protocol. In examples, at least one proposition is defined that relates to at least one property of the route. Probabilities are also defined in association with the proposition. A first probability may be indicative of a randomly-selected network route and a second probability may be indicative of randomly-selected network route that is suitable for use in routing network traffic. In certain examples, a probability that a given route is malicious or erroneous may be computed. Probabilities may be calculated by processing historical routing data, such as network route definitions that are labelled as suitable for routing traffic. Probabilities may also be evaluated cumulatively over multiple routing policy elements. Final actions may be made by applying a configurable range or threshold to an output confidence value.

  • Patent number: 9559971
Abstract: Measures for configuring a network aggregation device in a network. First routing data for a plurality of internet protocol (IP) flows configured on at least one edge device of a service provider network is identified. The edge device is located towards the service provider network from the network aggregation device. At least one utility metric for at least one IP flow in the identified plurality of IP flows is calculated. The at least one utility metric is calculated at least in part on the basis of one or more destination IP addresses associated with the at least one IP flow. A subset of IP flows from the identified plurality of IP flows is selected at least in part on the basis of the calculated at least one utility metric. Second routing data for the selected subset of IP flows is configured on the network aggregation device.

  • Patent number: 9557364
Abstract: System and method for testing the reliability of a fuse blow condition. The fuse blow detection circuit includes a fuse circuit comprising a fuse having a first end coupled to ground. A common node is coupled to the second end of the fuse. A pre-charge circuit is coupled to the common node for pre-charging the common node to a pre-charged HIGH level. An inverter includes an inverter output and an inverter input, wherein the inverter input is coupled to the common node. A feedback latch is coupled between a voltage source and ground, and includes a latch input that is coupled to the inverter output and a latch output coupled to the common node. A test circuit is included that is coupled to the common node, wherein in a normal mode the test circuit adds strength to the feedback latch for purposes of maintaining the common node at the pre-charged HIGH level, such that in a test mode the feedback latch is weaker than in the normal mode for purposes of maintaining the common node at the pre-charged HIGH level.

  • Publication number: 20160218964
Abstract: Certain examples described herein provide a system and method for validating a routing function for a network device. In one example, a network device has a run-time policy engine, wherein the run-time policy engine implements a routing configuration file and the routing configuration file defines a routing function for network traffic. A file editor is also provided that loads the routing configuration file. The file editor has an editor policy engine that duplicates a functionality of the run-time policy engine. In one example, the routing configuration file has at least one validation portion that has one or more route statements with definitions indicative of expected routing function behavior. The file editor parses the routing configuration file by implementing the routing configuration file using the editor policy engine.

  • Publication number: 20160127229
Abstract: Measures, including methods, systems, non-transitory computer-readable storage mediums and computer programs for use in routing packet data. At a network switching device, a data packet is received from a device located upstream of the network switching device. The received data packet comprises routing data associated with a routing decision which has been taken for the data packet upstream of the network switching device. The routing data comprises an abstract media access control (MAC) address corresponding to a next hop destination for the data packet located downstream of the network switching device. At the network switching device, the abstract MAC address in the data packet is replaced with a real MAC address of the next hop downstream destination. At the network switching device, the data packet is forwarded towards the next hop downstream destination.

  • Patent number: 9309462
Abstract: A composition comprising an ampholytic copolymer or terpolymer and a non ionic surfactant is shown useful in soil treatment, especially moisture and nutrient retention. The highly surface active compositions described herein self-assemble onto root zone plant surfaces and near-root soil, forming a moisture barrier that still permits root growth and oxygen flow. The inventive compositions increases the wettability of the soil allowing the soil to better absorb water at the beneficial root zone, and release it, along with essential nutrients, to the plant root structure. By targeting moisture retention in the root zone, the polymer decreases the migration potential to the root zone, producing higher irrigation efficiency for optimal plant growth with lower treatment levels. Different dilutions of the composition determine the final settling location of the composition, and the formation of the barrier. The compositions may be applied through known means, such as an irrigation system.
