  • Publication number: 20190243571
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus, system and method for offloading data transfer operations between source and destination storage devices to a hardware accelerator. The hardware accelerator includes a memory space and control logic to receive, from a host processor, a command descriptor indicating at least one source storage device having transfer data to transfer to at least one destination storage device and a computational task to perform on the transfer data. The control logic sends read commands to the at least one source storage device to read the transfer data to at least one read buffer in the memory space and performs the computational task on the transfer data to produce modified transfer data. The control logic writes the modified transfer data to at least one write buffer in the memory space to cause the modified transfer data to be written to the at least one destination storage device.

  • Patent number: 10355920
Abstract: A machine monitoring system uses generically defined collection definitions, acquisition definitions, and measurement definitions to define machine data to be collected by machine monitoring devices and other data sources in a unified and device/source independent manner. Configuration software of the machine monitoring system defines data to be collected for a particular machine in such a manner that multiple different types of monitoring devices or data sources can each interpret the data definitions and provide the same type of data back to the software system. Thus, the data to be collected is defined once by the configuration software, and the data definition is interpreted internally by each monitoring device or data source. This greatly simplifies the monitoring system and provides the advantage that new monitoring devices can be added to the system to collect data without impacting the software configuration of the data required.

  • Patent number: 10336019
Abstract: An in-situ double vacuum debulk (DVD) composite repair system designed to produce partially or fully cured autoclave-quality hot-bond composite repairs on contoured structures. The system provides vacuum pressure for hot bond repairs to be performed on flat and contoured structures using one set-up capable of debulking (partially curing) and then fully curing composite repairs on composite and metallic aircraft structures. The use of in-situ DVD also eliminates handling of the patch/adhesive when transferring from an off-aircraft DVD chamber to the repair site on the aircraft. This can increase the probability of successful repairs because the possibility of contaminating and misaligning the adhesive and repair patch are eliminated.

  • Publication number: 20190154181
Abstract: A gooseneck pipe includes a first pipe half having a first radiused centerline curve, and a second pipe half fixed to the first pipe half and having a second radiused centerline curve. The first and second pipe halves define a flow path. Cross-sectional diameters of the first and second pipe halves vary along the flow path. The varying diameters of the first and second pipe halves serve to mitigate pressure losses due in part to Dean vortices or secondary flow patterns in the flow path when a fluid is turned in the gooseneck pipe.

  • Patent number: 10293370
Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing a gradient nanovoided article, a gradient nanovoided coating, and a gradient low refractive index coating is described. The process includes providing a first solution of a polymerizable material in a solvent, and providing a first environment proximate a first region of the coating and a different second environment proximate an adjacent region of the coating. The process further includes at least partially polymerizing the polymerizable material to form a composition that includes an insoluble polymer matrix and a second solution. The insoluble polymer matrix includes a plurality of nanovoids that are filled with the second solution, and a major portion of the solvent from the second solution is removed. A first volume fraction of the plurality of nanovoids proximate the first region of the coating is less than a second volume fraction of the plurality of nanovoids proximate an adjacent of the coating.

  • Patent number: 10237282
Abstract: Methods and systems for Data Leak Prevention (DLP) in an enterprise network are provided. According to one embodiment, a network security device maintains a filter database containing multiple filtering rules. Each filtering rule specifies a watermark value, a set of network services for which the filtering rule is active and an action to be taken. Network traffic directed to a destination residing outside of an enterprise network, associated with a particular network service and containing a file is received. A watermark value embedded within the file is identified. When there exists a filtering rule specifying a matching watermark value and for which the filtering rule is active for the particular network service, the action specified by the filtering rule is performed.

  • Publication number: 20190044259
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards a connector for a memory device in a computing system. In one embodiment, the connector may include a housing having a cavity to receive a mating end of a printed circuit board (PCB). The cavity may include first groups of first contacts arranged along an inside wall of the cavity, to engage with respective second groups of second contacts arranged around the mating end of the PCB. The cavity may further include a bar disposed inside the cavity to bridge the cavity, to receive a notch formed on the mating end of the PCB. A depth of the notch may define a number of the first groups of first contacts to be engaged with a respective number of the second groups of second contacts on the mating end of the PCB. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
