Publication number: 20190243571Abstract: Provided are an apparatus, system and method for offloading data transfer operations between source and destination storage devices to a hardware accelerator. The hardware accelerator includes a memory space and control logic to receive, from a host processor, a command descriptor indicating at least one source storage device having transfer data to transfer to at least one destination storage device and a computational task to perform on the transfer data. The control logic sends read commands to the at least one source storage device to read the transfer data to at least one read buffer in the memory space and performs the computational task on the transfer data to produce modified transfer data. The control logic writes the modified transfer data to at least one write buffer in the memory space to cause the modified transfer data to be written to the at least one destination storage device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2019Publication date: August 8, 2019Inventors: Divya NARAYANAN, Jawad B. Patent number: 10237282Abstract: Methods and systems for Data Leak Prevention (DLP) in an enterprise network are provided. According to one embodiment, a network security device maintains a filter database containing multiple filtering rules. Each filtering rule specifies a watermark value, a set of network services for which the filtering rule is active and an action to be taken. Network traffic directed to a destination residing outside of an enterprise network, associated with a particular network service and containing a file is received. A watermark value embedded within the file is identified. When there exists a filtering rule specifying a matching watermark value and for which the filtering rule is active for the particular network service, the action specified by the filtering rule is performed.Type: GrantFiled: January 1, 2018Date of Patent: March 19, 2019Assignee: Fortinet, Inc.Inventors: Michael D. Patent number: 9497192Abstract: Methods and systems for Data Leak Prevention (DLP) in an enterprise network are provided. According to one embodiment, a data leak protection method is provided. Information regarding a watermark filtering rule is received by a network security device. The information includes a sensitivity level and an action to be applied to files observed by the network security device that match the watermark filtering rule. A file attempted to be passed through the network security device is received by the network security device. A watermark embedded within the received file is detected by the network security device. A sensitivity level associated with the watermark is compared by the network security device to the sensitivity level of the watermark. When the comparison results in a match, then the action specified by the watermark filtering rule is performed by the network security device.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2015Date of Patent: November 15, 2016Assignee: Fortinet, Inc.Inventors: Michael D. Patent number: 9319417Abstract: Methods and systems for Data Leak Prevention (DLP) in an enterprise network are provided. According to one embodiment a data leak protection method is provided. A network device receives information regarding a watermark filtering rule, including a sensitivity level and an action to be applied to files observed by the network device matching the watermark filtering rule. The network device scans a file attempted to be passed through the network device by locating a watermark embedded within the file and comparing a sensitivity level associated with the watermark to the sensitivity level of the watermark filtering rule. If the sensitivity levels match, then the network device performs the action specified by the watermark filtering rule.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2012Date of Patent: April 19, 2016Assignee: Fortinet, Inc.Inventors: Michael D.
