  • Patent number: 9786084
Abstract: System and methods for computer animations of 3D models of heads generated from images of faces is disclosed. A 2D captured image that includes an image of a face can be received and used to generate a static 3D model of a head. A rig can be fit to the static 3D model to generate an animation-ready 3D generative model. Sets of rigs can be parameters that each map to particular sounds. These mappings can be used to generate a playlists of sets of rig parameters based upon received audio content. The playlist may be played in synchronization with an audio rendition of the audio content.

  • Publication number: 20170270547
Abstract: A method to conduct a public opinion poll via application on smart phone or electronic device is discussed. This is a survey based method of gathering public opinion data, without using the traditional method of a telephone based survey, or emerging method of deducing public opinion by internet search and preference methods tracking. The concept in this context is to propose that an application resident on a smart phone/device is utilized to poll the public without a verbal exchange with a caller. This differs from the current telephone based method of randomly calling citizens of the polling population, or web based surveys that don't employ standard polling methodology on which to base the results. The concept proposes to include a background statement putting the poll questions in context, limiting poll to three questions and three possible responses for each, and providing a countdown timer indicating time remaining before poll is ended.

  • Publication number: 20170237768
Abstract: Some embodiments provide an origin whose content is distributed by a third party content distributor control over invoking attack protections from the third party content distributor. The origin independently monitors requests and messaging the content distributor passes to the origin as a result of the content distributor needing to retrieve content from the origin before redistribution or because requested content is dynamic or uncacheable. Upon detection of an attack, the origin signals the content distributor to perform one of several attack protections on its behalf. In this manner, the origin leverages the content distributor distributed platform architecture to shield itself from attack. Based on the origin signaling, the content distributor rate limits, blocks, redirects, or performs other attack protections to reduce the load on the origin server.

  • Publication number: 20170113659
Abstract: A cleaning pad cleans an inner wheel surface of a vehicle wheel. The cleaning pad has a base surface, an upper surface, and a lateral portion extending between the base surface and upper surface. The cleaning pad comprises a compressible material and is configured to install relative to the wheel. Upon installation, base surface engages with the inner surface of the wheel and the upper surface engages with the with the stationary mechanism. The upper surface of the installed cleaning pad remains in a fixed position relative to the stationary mechanism as the wheel rotates such that the base surface can apply pressure to, and clean the inner wheel surface.

  • Publication number: 20170068987
Abstract: An advertisement system measures an ad lift metric for advertisement campaigns, which indicates the increase in conversions that can be attributed to the advertisement campaign. As impression opportunities become available for users for the ad in the lift study, the advertisement system determines whether the user is in a test group or a control group. To limit bias in the lift study, rather than holding out ads from being provided to users after the ad has been selected for the user and right before the impression, the system holds out the ads at a higher level in the ad selection process. In this manner, not all test group users receive the advertisement. The system computes the lift metric as e.g., the incremental lift (difference between conversion rates in the test and control groups), and this is divided by conversion rate of an exposed target group minus the incremental lift.

  • Publication number: 20160249885
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system and method enable the automatic acquisition of standard view planes of the heart in real time, such as the AP4, AP3, and AP2 views. A 3D image of the heart is acquired and the processed in conjunction with a geometrical heart model. The heart model is fitted to the heart in its acquired pose to segment the desired image planes from the 3D image data. During successive image acquisition intervals the image planes are tracked through successive image data as multi-plane system to update a display of the multiple images. The successive image acquisitions can be volume image acquisitions or multi-plane acquisitions of just the tracked image planes during each acquisition interval.

  • Publication number: 20160247251
Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are described including receiving a policy from a secure storage device, where the policy may be used to implement collaborative rendering of image content. The image content may include multiple portions of image content. The policy may be used to determining rendering assignments for multiple mobile devices where the assignments may specify that a mobile device is to render one content portion while another mobile device is to render another content portion. The rendering assignments may be provided to the mobile devices and rendered output corresponding to the different content portions may be received from the mobile devices. The rendered output may then be assembled into one or more image frames and wirelessly communicated to a remote display.

  • Publication number: 20160236418
Abstract: An accelerometer is supported on a print head assembly to determine actual acceleration, and a computer system is used to obtain and store information about error in movement along a specified axis. The method used is to activate a motor for a selected axis at a particular location, then calculate an expected acceleration. The next step is to measure the actual acceleration data and then compute error data. Following that is a step to store error data in the memory as a function of position and error. These steps are repeated for N locations along each specified axis. Then, this error data is referred to during actual printing operations to reduce error.

  • Publication number: 20160236407
Abstract: A 3D printer has a casing, a nozzle for printing, an extruder, a heating element, and a print bed. The casing encloses a region above and around the print bed to form a printing zone. The apparatus has a plurality of micro motors for controlling movement of the nozzle during printing. Further, the 3D printer has safer components as compared with the prior art, ideal for use in home and education situations, and includes a rounded edge design of the printer, an improved small and enclosed area of the printer heating element, and a lower power system, reducing the risk of electrical shock.

  • Publication number: 20160236409
Abstract: A 3D printer has a casing, a nozzle for printing, an extruder, a heating element, and a print bed. The casing encloses a region above and around the print bed to form a printing zone. Further, the 3D printer has features adapted for low-noise operation, and is already suitably quiet enough for use in a low-noise environment because it does not generate loud sounds. Specifically, in a quiet office with 37-38 dB of noise, noise emissions were measured while the present invention constructed a 3D printed model, and at six inches from the extruder on the 3D printer, the noise emissions measured 39-58 dB, at three feet away measured 38-43 dB, and at six feet away measured around 37-40 dB.
