  • Patent number: 9365346
Abstract: A roll-out waste bin includes a retention bar that is held in place on the bin by a pair of retention bar housings. A rib in one of the retention bar housings engages one end of the retention bar and a protrusion on the other end of the retention bar and exterior to both of the retention bars housings positions the retention bar. In another embodiment, protrusions on both ends of the retention bar allow elimination of the rib. In yet another embodiment, multiple protrusions on one end of the retention bar allow positioning of the retention bar.

  • Publication number: 20160135815
Abstract: One aspect of the present invention relates to a tissue resection guide that includes a central body, a first flange and a second flange, the flanges having first and second guide surfaces, respectively, suitable for use in tissue resection. Each guide surface lies on a cutting plane, both planes intersecting interior to the flanges. In the embodiments described, the availability of two cutting planes ensures resections in more than one plane are possible. As a result, bone segments can be removed via a cut on two planes without the need to cut across an entire section of bone on one plane. In some embodiments, an opening exists between the first flange and the second flange to ensure that each resection overlaps. In other aspects of the invention, systems and methods of use for the tissue resection guide are described.

  • Patent number: 9314857
Abstract: A cutting tool with first and second pivoted shearing blades has a guide member mounted to the first blade for transverse movement relative to the first blade and toward and away from the second blade. The guide member has a transverse restraining surface that confronts a transverse guided surface of the second blade during cutting of a workpiece to resist axial separation of the cutting edges away from the cutting plane. A yieldable, resettable mechanism enables release of an uncut cable captured by the guide member in the event the planned cut is in error or must be postponed. Examples include a ball detent, a magnet, an over-center extension spring arrangement and a torsion spring.

  • Patent number: 9313228
Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are described including receiving a policy from a secure storage device, where the policy may be used to implement collaborative rendering of image content. The image content may include multiple portions of image content. The policy may be used to determining rendering assignments for multiple mobile devices where the assignments may specify that a mobile device is to render one content portion while another mobile device is to render another content portion. The rendering assignments may be provided to the mobile devices and rendered output corresponding to the different content portions may be received from the mobile devices. The rendered output may then be assembled into one or more image frames and wirelessly communicated to a remote display.

  • Patent number: 9194311
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for heating a catalyst during engine cold-start conditions. One example embodiment uses positive valve overlap to drive a boosted blow-through airflow through the cylinders of an engine. Fuel is injected with the blow-through airflow during the valve overlap, and also injected into engine cylinders outside the valve overlap. The catalyst is heated by the resulting exothermic reaction of the blow-through airflow with the combustion products and the injected fuel in the exhaust manifold.

  • Publication number: 20150241128
Abstract: A heat exchanger from a stack of plate pairs having fins which are disposed between the plate pairs, and having ducts which vertically extend through the stack, for conveying in and/or conveying out a medium which flows through the plate pairs and which exchanges heat with another medium which flows through the fins, wherein the ducts are formed from openings in the plates and have moldings which extend around opening peripheries, and having a plate, having corresponding openings, which finishes off the stack, wherein a thermally decoupling element, which is inserted either in an integrated or a separate manner and which is incorporated into the vertical duct formation, is disposed between the finishing-off plate and the stack. Such a heat exchanger displays improved resilience to alternating temperature loadings.

  • Publication number: 20150129167
Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a bundle of tubes, which can be inserted into a tubular housing. Exhaust gas can flow through the tubes. A coolant duct can be arranged between the tubes. The bundle of tubes can have at least one grid-like securing structure which supports the bundle in the housing. The behavior of the heat exchanger with respect to vibrations is affected by outwardly curved metallic springs attached to the bundle of tubes which may be deformed in the opposite direction to the insertion direction of the bundle into the housing. The spring force is directed against the housing in order to dampen vibrations. The heat exchanger can also include an elastic device for permitting a change in length caused by temperature changes.
