  • Publication number: 20250083529
Abstract: A braking system is described in which a synchronous electric machine mechanically coupleable to one or more wheels of a vehicle is used as a means of providing a controllable braking torque in the event that one or more of the components in the power train (for example the battery or inverter powering the synchronous electric machine) is in a fault condition. In such a fault condition, the electric machine generates uncontrolled regenerated currents when the rotor is rotating. A dump resistor is used to dissipate the uncontrolled regenerated currents and one or more switches in the current flow path are used to modulate the power through the dump resistor, thus creating a controllable braking system.

  • Publication number: 20250075240
Abstract: A DNA synthesis technology that relies on sequence-directed, multiplexed ligations to enable template-independent, exponential synthesis of gene- or genome-length DNA. This approach relies on well characterized and optimized enzymes and thus does not require further protein engineering. This approach is amenable to cost-effective automation and thus will enable cost-effective DNA “printers”.

  • Publication number: 20250072752
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for detecting eye alignment during retinal imaging. In an embodiment, the system receives an infrared stream from an imaging device, the infrared stream showing characteristics of an eye of a patient. The system determines, based on the infrared stream, that the eye is improperly aligned at a first time, and outputs sensory feedback indicative of the improper alignment. The system detects, based on the infrared stream at a second time later than the first time, that the eye is properly aligned, and receives an image of a retina of the properly aligned eye from the imaging device.

  • Patent number: 12242373
Abstract: Systems, devices, media, and methods are presented for testing the capability of a mobile device to run a particular feature of an application. Each feature may include a package of code, a call, a state, and a condition; each condition correlated with a specific state. The call is a query that includes instructions to evaluate whether the application will run successfully if a particular feature is running. If the call fails, the feature condition remains Off, resulting in a rollback of the feature. If the call succeeds, the feature condition is changed to On. The system may include an experimentation framework on each mobile device for registering features, executing calls, logging results, and maintaining states and conditions.
